In the not too distant future I will be relocating to Romania (through work), probably for a few years. Before I go, and while I'm there, I'd like to keep abreast of local current affairs and culture. What well-written and well-informed blogs or news sources *in English* should I keep an eye on? (obviously I am hoping to use this posting as a chance to brush up on my very limited Romanian, but that's going to take a while...)

The forum was made up of psychopaths talking about their experiences, points of view and things they've done. It was fascinating to read and learn about. What prompted me to look into it back then was that I'm quite certain my father is one.
The only results I've been finding are support forums for people who've been in relationships with psychopaths.

I've got an idea for a community website that is women centric in a very male dominated hobby. I've looked, there really doesn't seem to be a community catering to women in this hobby out there right now, and I'm coming to realize that this really could be a good niche because women involved in the hobby are pretty marginalized.
What I could use some advice on is - do I make it woman only, or allow men to participate just promoting to women and keeping some women centric topics?

What are the best motorcycle forums? Too many hits from a Google search, so I'd love some specific recommendations. Looking for active members, friendly to relative newby questions. General is good, but some specifics about me: In the Northeast US, recreational rider (not racing), grown-up, older "standard" bike, very interested in riding safely with proper gear. Thanks!

I'd like to read substantive writing about MMA that does more than just follow the news. If possible, I'd like to participate in thoughtful discussion about it. Ideally, I'd like a blog, column, or forum that gets updated regularly, but books are fine, too.

I'm part of a long-standing email list community (both digest and non-digest individual mail versions) where some folks would like to be able to move to some kind of web forum type format, but others would like to hang on to their plain old email mailing list format. Is there any software out there that would work well to allow for an email interface to a web forum? Or some other way to get the old school email folks and the people who want something more like phpbb to all talk amongst themselves without too much pain for either group?

I'm looking for a forum where I can ask questions about networking, security, coding, operating systems, web design, etc. There are
many of these out there, but I'd like to find a
single community which covers all these topics more or less equally (so it isn't a Linux forum with a small section on BSD, or a coding forum with a small section on networking). I'd like it to be the sort of forum where users stay around for several years as they learn and contribute at different levels, with high literacy and education-to-spam levels. Could I have your recommendations please?

While you can find forums for just about anything, there seems to be this void for an active small business owners forum. Specifically small businesses with less than 50 employees. Whatever I've found so far is low/no traffic or packed with spam. In a perfect world.... I know it would be asking a lot to discover a site like Metafilter, but is there anything out there that comes close?

I moderate a couple of forums but would prefer not to have to keep checking recent posts' page to see if someone has posted something. Is there a program (
