I've got three new baby kittens with no mother, and I need to feed them. I don't have access to any good pet stores or veterinary clinics, but I do have lactose-free baby formula and a plastic syringe with the needle removed, which I've been using to feed them so far. But is there a foolproof method of holding them or something to get them to drink from it? I can usually get them to drink, but only about half of the amount recommended. More details inside.

I have a formula for inputting into my expense sheet but it doesn't populate the field like it should. I stole the formula from my time sheet, and that does populat the column for the 4 weeks after I manually put in date 1.
It is:
=IF($B$4=0,"",SUM(B4+1))
So...why does it work in one sheet but not the next?

YTD total based on sum of last number in another row that has a value?
I need to sum up the values in one row based on the matching row below it. For example, if I have a target of $1000 a month, and I only have actual revenue numbers through June, I would like to calculate the year to date for the target from Jan to June. Once July numbers are put in, I'd want the YTD for the target to update to Jan to Jul.
I have tried a couple of variations on COUNT, INDEX and OFFSET.
Example is here:

I have hundreds of text strings entered through a form in a Google Spreadsheets which look like
4*3 9*2 17*3 22 37*4 52. I can easily substitute " " for "+" and concatenate a "=" in front
=4*3+9*2+17*3+22+37*4+52. Now I have a text string which looks like a formula but isn't one.
How can I make Google Spreadsheets interpret this string as a formula?

ExcelFilter: I need help creating a pie chart as a separate worksheet in Excel that counts how often values appear in a column and creates a pie graph based on that data. I'm stumped, I'm not using the right Google terms, and my company's help desk couldn't guide me through the process, either. (That sounds awkward, so I describe it more comprehensibly inside.)
