## Help with Excel formula to compare 1 column of numbers to other columns.

I have an excel sheet with 4 columns of numbers. The first column is a recent donation amount. The other three columns were the prompts of donation amounts, (the Reach, the Target, and the Anchor). Is there an excel formula that can compare these four columns?

## Excel filter: How do I add only data for a given month?

I have an Excel worksheet that logs hikes. The columns are date, location, miles, notes. The rows are hikes. I have a summary worksheet in the same workbook that I use to track progression. Things like cumulative miles for the year, average miles per month. I'd like to add month by month totals. I want to write a formula that will sum the distance only for a particular month (for example, January). I need a formula that will test if the hike occurred in that month, then add the miles to the sum. What would this formula look like?

## Excel 2013 - Using data from two columns to identify a row in a third

I have data on one sheet of an Excel document with three columns. I want to extract this for use on another sheet as follows: If a row in Column A contains X (text string) and a row in column B contains Y (also a text string) then what does the row in column C (always a value) which matches these two criteria contain? With the data I have, this will always return a single result.

## Excel formula: Letter to Number (and vice versa)

I'm working on a formula (not a macro) to convert a Letter (in this case, a column letter) to a Number, and vice versa. So: A = 1, B = 2, C = 3, Z = 26, AA = 27, AB = 28, AC = 29, ZZ = 702, AAA = 703, AAB = 704, AAC = 705, BAA = 1379, etc... Of my three part formula(s), I have the one-letter and two-letter columns working, but I run into issues with the three-letter columns (AAA and beyond).

YTD total based on sum of last number in another row that has a value? I need to sum up the values in one row based on the matching row below it. For example, if I have a target of \$1000 a month, and I only have actual revenue numbers through June, I would like to calculate the year to date for the target from Jan to June. Once July numbers are put in, I'd want the YTD for the target to update to Jan to Jul. I have tried a couple of variations on COUNT, INDEX and OFFSET. ## Excel Formula Display Help

I have an excel file full of formulas that span multiple sheets and rows. I would like to be able to go into a formula and see the actual data used in the formula rather than just the cell references. So, for simplicity's sake, imagine A1=1,000, A2=2,000, A3=A1/A2 When I go to cell A3 and press "F2" or "cntrl`" the formula with the references shows up "=A1/A2". What I would like to see is "=1,000 / 2,000" (what you would get if you wrote =A1 &" / "& A2) I know that I can do this sort of with the watch window or the evaluate formula but I am looking for a quick way to roll down a sheet and see the actual math that is being done without having to scroll all over the place or flip sheets. Hopefully this makes sense. If not, I can further clarify. No one at my office thinks that it is possible so I might just be out of luck but I live in a world of hope...

## Finding the right Microsoft Excel formula

I've got an Excel spreadsheet with numbers ranging from 2,000 to 600,000. I want Excel to look at each cell and essentially categorize all of those into five categories in a new column. If the value is less than 10,000, I want Excel to give it a 1, if the value is between 10,000 and 50,000 I want it to be 2, if the value is between 50,000 and 100,000, I want it to return 3, if it's between 100,000 and 500,000, I want a 4, and if it's above 500,000, I want a 5. I tried the IF function, but I can't figure out how to a) make it recognize multiple variables, and b) I don't know how to tell it to look for numbers within a range. The Excel help section about arrays and lookups is fairly mystifying. Anyone got an idea? (I know I could sort the data and do this manually, but I'd like to learn how to do this Excel's way.) Thank you!
