What sort of pants are these and where can I find more? I got this pair of pants at H&M because they matched the woman's suit jacket I was buying. I originally scoffed at the length but I have now fallen in love with them. I am especially looking for pants this length/cut in other formal fabrics (the pair pictured are glen plaid).

I'm a big guy and I'd like to get a dress shirt with French cuffs. Are there great online sellers for shirts like this, or perhaps you know of a better brick and mortar shop around Maryland/Washington, D.C. that can help me out? The local big guy store's French cuff selection is limited to Italian Mobster chic (striped lavender), while I'm going for more of a Stephen Fry look – a cream or white shirt to go with my dark gray corduroy jacket. I'd like it to be long, too, so it stays tucked into my pants without fuss.

No pressing deadline or budget, so maybe that opens up custom-made shirts from a tailor? Fit and comfort are much more important than style or formality, for this shirt.

What do I need to know before buying a white dress shirt? I'm at a point in my professional life where the whisper-thin $14.99 white dress shirts just aren't cutting it. Before I take the half-assed step to the merely rumour-thin $30 white dress shirts, I wonder if somebody natty among the MeFi set could give me some pointers. Where are the price points for quality in white dress shirts? What should I look for when shirting up?

For bonus points: I live in a smallish Quebec town where the closest stores are all Canadian chains like The Bay, Sears, etc. Sites like this one seem to offer ... er ... shirts of quality I cannot ascertain at prices that may or may not be reasonable, which would be convenient. Essentially, I have no idea what I'm doing here, so any thoughts would be appreciated.

Where can I find a formal bowler hat in Glasgow or Edinburgh? I've been watching The Avengers for a few weeks and I've got it into my mind to purchase a bowler hat while I am on vacation in Scotland to visit a friend. I would like a clerk to measure my head and offer just the right-sized hat (my head is large). I'm willing to spend $100-$200 (50-100 pounds, right?).

I'll be staying in Glasgow for most of the trip with a likely day trip to Edinburgh. My friend scouted out a department store for me, but didn't find a single bowler. Google has only given me disappointment. Does anyone know of a proper haberdasher or formal menswear shop (or chain) which carries high-quality bowlers in abundance?

Morning dress - where to buy/rent for a Miami wedding?

I'd like me and my groomsmen to be clad in morning attire when I get married in Miami a year or so hence. Morning dress is relatively rare in the US, and I was wondering if anyone who has had experience putting together this look for a wedding can recommend any good outfitters. We're probably going to buy for the groom and rent for the groomsmen. Any suggestions? There is plenty of lead time so I would be open to ordering from a non-Miami location. Any other advice on pulling off morning attire greatly appreciated!

Help me find a plus-size black, lace dress to wear as a bridesmaid dress.

I need help locating a bridesmaid dress for my sister's wedding. There are a few constraints, but basically I'm searching for a plus-size, a-line, black, lace dress. I'm having a lot of trouble finding what I want pretty much anywhere.

The basic requirements are that it must be black, long, and formal.

My additional requirements are that it is an a-line cut, has a scoop / v-neck / or strapless neckline, and that the longest sleeve length is cap sleeves (i prefer sleeveless).

I would *really* like a dress that is black with a black lace overlay. I am seeing a lot of dresses with a black lace overlay, but usually the fabric underneath is nude, white or another color. However, the dress has to be solid black.

It also has to be available in actual plus-sizes, not just a line that goes up to an 18.

I've been Googling & searching all the formalwear sites I know. Actual bridesmaid dress lines don't seem to have lace dresses from what I have seen. If you can help me find some sources, I will love you forever.

Hi, Do you happen to know where one may find an ascot in Chicago? Also, what type of collar should be worn with an ascot?--I was thinking of the open collar, summery ascot (in case there are multiple variations). What should I look for in a nice suit?

Weddings and formal affairs oh boy! This next year will be chock full and since my regular job attire does not include a suit I am clueless when it comes to what is necessary and/or nice to have. I do not need anything different or special, but well-fitted is a must. What type of suits are best all year round, easy to alter (by a tailor, not myself), and just look good?
