Just poking around the
forecast.io web app on my iPhone, and I noticed that it gets its own icon in the app tray that shows recent apps. As far as I can tell, normally sites installed as apps just point to Safari down there. How does forecast.io finagle its own icon?

Is there a word for a "collection of possible future events that are all somehow related?" I want something that captures the idea of a "collection of scenarios." Or, pick an forecasted event, fear, or desire: What is "the spectrum of possible outcomes" relevant to this thing that has my attention, plausible or otherwise, expected or unexpected, the good, the bad, and the ugly? Probability cloud? Scenario collection?

How do I find which places in the world are hot and sunny
right now? This is for the purposes of a vacation. I'm not interested in seasonal averages. I'd like to see a globe with sunshine icons on those cities that are currently actually hot and sunny, and I guess stormcloud or snow icons on those cities with precipitation.

I have questions about the weather reporting on my local television and radio stations, and how that data is gathered. I want to know how it likely works, rather than how it ideally should work, especially as I'm located in a small college town in the Midwest.
