Audio-visual help, please: I need a camera/monitor setup that allows me to film things, show that footage live on a screen as it's shot, and record that same footage as clips that I can quickly share later.

I just found some video footage of 5-year-old me on Youtube. It was definitely not posted by my parents. It also features nekkid hippies (I am dressed). Who owns that footage?

I need to find a scene in an old film (preferably really old, like pre-1923) that shows a bunch of stuffy men sitting in an audience, listening intently, as if to a lecture. The only catch -- it has to be set in the late 19th century. Anything pop to mind, oh great collective brain? [more inside]

What's the artist/title of the video art piece in where the artist takes old public domain movie and slowly scrubs through the footage? I remember seeing a piece about 6 years ago where it's a family scene, and the father is spanking the daughter, and the video artist scrubs the footage back/forth repetitively. I know it's a long shot, and I've seen other artists do the same thing with similar footage (info on these artists is helpful as well.)

When calculating a house's square footage, does one include screened-in outdoor porch areas (with unfinished floors and no heating or other amenities)? Does one include separate garages (with no heating or other amenties)? Basements?
Also, is there a definitive source I can point to for justifying any inclusions/exclusions re: the above to those who might question?
Thanks!

I have a project coming up where I will need to capture (digitize) a full 8-10 hours of footage (to be captured on DV tape) and make DVD copies for 3 people by the end of the next day. Ok, so I know how to go from DV to MPEG2 via either Final Cut Pro (v. 5.1.4) or Avid Xpress. What I'm wondering is, is there a way to bypass capturing the footage to DV (then converting to MPEG2) and going straight from the tape to MPEG2 so I can save myself hours of encoding from DV to MPEG2 and then burning discs?

I am in the process of creating a DVD of my sketch comedy group's work. This means I have to go through about fifty DV tapes in order to find the ones which have completed sketches rather than footage on them. In addition, many of the tapes are unlabelled. Is there some method or program which can scan a tape quickly and give me an overall impression of what's on it? (I'm thinking via thumbnails, but I presume there are other ways of doing it.)

TrailerFilter: So I watched Anchorman the other night. Last night, at a different film, I saw the Anchorman trailer. In it, lots of things exciting things happen that don't appear in the film - Hero takes a bullet for Heroine, they have sex on the boss's desk, he tells her that he wants to be King Of Austria and that she sounds like a mental person. What's going on there then?
