Are Subway vegetables cut up on premises -- or are they frankenfood prepared days before in some far off factory then vacuum sealed? Please help settle a pointless argument.

I have resorted to eating at fast food places because after making the same 10-15 dishes over and over, I am out of food ideas. I am looking for healthy Vegetarian or Fish recipes you have found online this year that you like the best, and maybe some new spices. [more inside]

There's a gardener
coming to speak at the library I work on next month and I thought I would also organise a veggie swap afterwards. So the publicity has gone out, my neighbours are coming and there has been interest from the local council and environment groups who are interested in starting their own if it goes well. My problem is I'm not sure how to practically run it. Should I issue tickets roughly based on market value when people drop off their produce or should I let it go for a free for all working on a trust basis.
Anyone run one of these before? Any advise in general?

What is this plant
that came in our CSA box today? The bunch is about 10-12 inches long, it smells vaguely like cilantro but without so much "soapiness", and the leaves are somewhat fennel-like. The flowers are small and pinkish to purplish.

What are good vegetable substitutes for otherwise carb-laden fare? For example: mashed cauliflower to replace mashed potatoes and spaghetti squash to (kind of) replace spaghetti.

[Deceptively Delicious/Sneaky Chef Filter] Hey parents! I have a picky toddler. Yes, I try to get him to eat his veggies 'normally', but I'm also down with Deceptively Delicious/Sneaky Chef-type pureeing to hide the veggies. Can you please share your recipes/techniques of getting veggies into kids' dinners? [more inside]

Recently, after eating raw sugar snap peas, I've been getting tender spots on my lips and my throat gets dry and slightly sore. It goes away after a half hour or so. What is this? An allergy?

We've got a tiny patch of dirt in our back yard and want to grow edible stuff. We're not that serious, just mostly goofing off. What could we grow out there using existing foodstuffs? By that, I mean, we want to grow green onions, for example. Can we just grab a few green onions from the fridge, cut off the bottom, and plant those?
Are there any other simple-to-grow foodstuffs we should consider?
We're in Southern California, but the patch of dirt only gets direct sunlight maybe 1-2 hours a day.
