I have a client that has a scooter food delivery service. What I need to do is build menus for each of the restaurants, have the user be able to add items to a cart and then get a total. The actual transaction will occur at the customers home upon delivery so there's no need to deal with payments online. I'd like to use something open source and I've been looking at X-cart but I'd like to consider as many options as possible. WP/WooCommerce doesn't work because it requires a payment gateway and real time transaction (as far as I can tell) I'd love some recommendations. Thanks.

For Christmas this year I would love to give my family food-of-the-month type gifts from places like
Murrays and
Zingermans, but those places don't deliver to Canada, where most of my family members live. Can you recommend really great subscription/gift food that's either Canada-based, or delivers to Canada?

Co-op question. We contributed $400 (fully vested!) to a food co-op that may never happen. It hasn't been able to secure funding through a USDA loan, or by any other method. It's been about four years. Can I take an income tax deduction?

How do I shop in a Korean grocery store while not actually knowing any Korean? Many of the items have little to no English on the labels, and with a limited budget, I'm not quite willing to spend any significant amount of money on something I may find inedible (either being a flavor I don't like, or a complete lack of knowledge of proper preparation).

Angelenos who ride the Red Line: What are your favorite stops and why? Which ones are the best in terms of being within easy walking distance to shops, restaurants, etc? I just moved into an apartment two blocks from the Vermont/Wilshire stop, and would like to take full advantage of the Metro rail system - especially the Red Line. I'm originally from Pasadena, so I've already seen everything over there. I also have a car, but would like to avoid the urban gauntlet of LA's streets as much as possible.
