When I print from Word 2004 (Mac), the character spacing is slightly off, but definitely noticeable. Random letters in random words will be closer or further apart than other letters. This happens when I print to a PDF or physically print a document, but not in the regular Word display. What's going on? [more inside]

Fonts Filter: In MS Word 2002, I'm trying to type a "combining diaresis" (umlaut applied to the preceding character). Sometimes it actually works; sometimes i get a square box. I have no idea why it works when it does, or why it doesnt work when it doesnt. [more inside]

I've got a couple of Type 1 fonts that I would like to use, but MS Word crashes whenever I try to use them. They work fine in all other applications. I've got Adobe Type Manager, latest version. I've asked about this in several other forums, without being able to solve the problem. If anyone can sort this out, it's gotta be the AskMe crew.

And, oh yeah, I'm running Windows ME. Bring it on. I can take it.
