In the midst of wedding preparations here in Chicago, I have totally whiffed on flowers. We want to Midwest prairie flower corsages and such for our wedding this Saturday based around some milkweed pods we've been saving. We tried Kennicott's
to no avail because they only do wholesale.
Any ideas for where on the northside of Chicago we could go to cheaply (or even for free, if we're ethically picking something) acquire wildflowers and grasses this week?

I am getting married in Hawaii - that much is certain. It is going to be a small wedding (because of travel requirements). When I say small, I mean probably 10 and 20 would be the absolute most. [more inside]

Looking for ideas to get a corsage for the bride and a boutonniere for the groom on short notice in Miami. These will be for a casual wedding ceremony on Thursday late afternoon (2 days from now). They don't have to be fancy, but it would be nice to have good quality flowers and for them to be well made.

Do people send flowers to a wedding? I have a friend (who is originally from Turkey--this is relevant) who was invited to the Florida wedding of her father's friend's daughter (who was born in the U.S. but is of Turkish descent). My friend can't attend, wants to send flowers, and is wondering whether to send them to the church or the reception. [more inside]

How do you deal with brown spots on roses? I'm posting for my mom and sister who are non-professionally doing my cousin's wedding flowers for tonight. Some of the flowers have brown spots - is there any way to deal with this? Cut the rose petals with scissors? Google is yielding nothing but, "Don't use flowers with brown spots."

The wonderful, fantastic, exhilarating news is that we're getting married in Chicago in June. The less-good news is that we live in different cities, neither of which is anywhere near Chicago. So we could use a little help putting together the pieces, like florists, photographers, DJs, and oh yeah someone to actually do the marrying. And we've like got four months to do it in.
