What are some well-known sites who have scaled back their Flash use? I can think of flickr and mint.com, both of which started with much more of a reliance on Flash and then scaled back to having some Flash components on an otherwise XHTML-driven site.
Way back in the history of the web, when Flash was brand-new, someone did a great version of Terry Bisson's "They're Made Out of Meat" in animated Flash. It was incredibly funny. I've searched for years, but haven't been able to find this version. Anybody know if it's still out there?

I am trying to remember a website that I found about 4 years ago. It was a flash site that enabled you to build or draw structures, then set them into motion. You could mess around with gravity strength, etc. You could load other people's creations, then alter them as you saw fit. Perhaps the name had something to do with string? The site was mostly white... That's about all I can remember. Let's see what the hive mind can do with such a sparse description. Thanks everyone.

I draw paper dolls, and I would like to be able to make a dress-up game in Flash out of them. I can find tutorials about making simple dress-up games easily enough, but I have two questions that none of the tutorials seem to answer: one about linked layers and one about "snapping" the outfit in place. My son, it turns out, is a genius with Flash animation, at least as far as his high school has allowed him to pursue it. He is very excited (and that means a lot in a teen!) about the idea of animation now that he is thinking about career plans for his future. What resources, advice, schools, courses, etc. can I give him to help him leverage his interest into a possible career path? We're in central Florida, if that means anything.
