Where can I find funny flash movies on the internet? I'm bored with homestarrunner, jibjab, threebrain, and I've exhausted sites like shockwave.com, ebaumsworld, newgrounds and campchaos. It's going to take more than a dancing banana to make me laugh. Who is producing the best stuff, and where is it?

I am developing a Flash-based website using
Miniml's free fonts. I understand that the fonts should be placed at integer positions, but what happens when they are nested inside MCs which themselves are not integer-postitioned? Do I need to place all my (many) levels of MCs sans decimal points?

Flash MX 2004 crashes on startup, suspect font issue, as the last thing the splash screen says is "initializing fonts". DreamWeaver, Fireworks and Freehand work fine,
I had been messing around with the fonts on my XP pro system lately, trying to get Extensis Suitcase working right, so I moved most of my fonts out of the windows/fonts folder (except the ones with a big red A, as suggested in suitcase's manual), but much wierdness ensued. A mess of 0 byte font files appeared in windows/fonts, which I managed to get rid of after removing windows/fonts special properties, and later restoring them. Have moved fonts back into windows/fonts, but Suitcase reports about 16 postscript fonts as "missing", but these same fonts don't show up either in windows/fonts, or under the font lists in The Font Thing or OT1 Font Manager. OT1 reports a "temp" font named "Sydnie" which doesn't show up anywhere else.
Have tried fixing registry, using OT1's tools and much else, to no avail. Have reinstalled Windows and Flash a number of times. Windows explorer is a little off, too, locks up, etc.

Looking to make some character-based cartoon animation in flash. What plugins, 3rd party apps, techniques, etc. have you used and would recommend? No dead tree literature, please, as I am far beyond the clutches of Amazon, and my local library is absolute crap.

Vague request for a screensaver: I saw it being linked either at MeFi or at meepzorp or at some other cool blog, however: It was a b/w flash-animation that featured just all sorts of weird forms and figures shifting into each other in organic movements, occassionally a piece of colour dropping into the process. I really don't know how to describe better. There was also a screensaver file which I am looking for. I think the filename was something like "tubular" - or maybe not. I
said it was a vague request!

For a radio piece I have to record, I'd like to get a digital recording device that I can hook up to a nice microphone -- something with Flash memory or a hard drive, rather than DAT or minidisc. Can someone recommend one? Some guy at Radio Shack suggested the iPod itself, but it doesn't seem to have a mic jack.

How can I get Flash to write data to an external file? Is really the only decent method to create a server-side solution which does the actual work? Either way, pointers to examples would be much appreciated.

Is there a generally-accepted (or your-office-accepted) term for the type of decorative Flash movie with photos that fade in and out and white or black lines that drift back and forth?
Here's an example (turn down your speakers) from a thread that was posted recently on MeFi. The genre seems to be ubiquitous enough to have its own moniker, but I don't want to lump it in under "Flashturbation" because the file sizes are typically small and it seems to be a reasonable if cliche way to present a series of images.

Flash quandary: A previously defunct Flash project I left unfinished is coming back to life. This is good. What's bad is that I only have one .EXE file projector file, not the .FLA, not even a .SWF. Is there any way I can bring the .exe file into Flash so I can finish the project?

Has anybody ever tried the flash cards that are "designed" for cameras? They claim to have faster write speeds. I can't help thinking the bus would be a bigger bottleneck than the speed of the card, but I keep seeing them and can't tell if it's just marketing hype or if the extra spend is worth it.

I recently got a new Sony Vaio. Its great, except I didn't realize it didn't come with a floppy disk drive. So, what I'm looking for to replace it is a small USB drive (around 64-128 megs). I've seen a bunch online and at stores for sale, but anyone here personaly use them and know what a good brand is? I want one that hooks to a keychain and can take a good amount of abuse (I don't care about extra features like security- my main concern is will it break easily and be around for a good while). Any ideas?
