Looking for outstanding examples of animations and videos that explain a difficult-to-understand concept or topic. Not KhanAcademy-type, but rather interactive Flash works or videos with 3D animation.

Does anybody (in the top-tier creative-professional/digital artist)
really use Flash anymore? I'm talking about the timeline-based-vector-animation-only side of Flash - not the ActionScript side. I'm teaching a (somewhat condensed/potentially fast-paced) class in media production - is it really worth it for the students to learn the vector-animation if it's really no longer something widely used in the creative industry (esp. when there are much better options)?

Flash animators: When I export my flash cartoon to quicktime, moving objects leave behind horrible artifacts. Apparently I am not the only one with this problem. If Flash's quicktime export is so crummy, how do the professionals publish their cartoons to video?

Does anyone remember and know where I can find an old Flash animation that I saw on the internet years ago, which featured hopping bunnies, the floating head of Margaret Thatcher, and a jaunty song containing the word 'ja!'?

I bought some stock video footage of a dog on a green background which I plan to chroma key out. Then I want to morph seamlessly into a graphic - still with the background masked out! And I want to do this all in Flash! For my Christmas Card! Not a total newbie at all of this - details inside.

I am looking to purchase editable stock Flash animation files to make holiday e-cards. I just want to add my name and another text message to an exisiting clever animation. Istockphoto just doesn't have what I am looking for. A google search was suprisingly not helpful. Any ideas?

In search of an annoying flash video in the early "style" of rathergood.com (e.g. viking kittens)
It consisted of an annoying (probably) pitch shifted voice making a race car noise.

My son, it turns out, is a genius with Flash animation, at least as far as his high school has allowed him to pursue it. He is very excited (and that means a lot in a teen!) about the idea of animation now that he is thinking about career plans for his future. What resources, advice, schools, courses, etc. can I give him to help him leverage his interest into a possible career path? We're in central Florida, if that means anything.

Flash? After effects? Maya? Toon Boom? Something else? I want to make some very simple abstract animation videos. The simplest would be just full screens of solid colors fading slowly into each other. Slightly more complex would be the same full screens of colors fading into each other, but not all at once. That is, maybe start the fade in the center or corner, and slowly leak in the new color. Or another slightly more complex: The screen divided into multiple blocks of different color that slowly fade into other colors. Real simple, slow, mellow stuff. So, what's the right software for that? Thanks!

GraphicsFilter: How do I get an image with a lot of diagonal jaggies in it to scroll without flickering? I think it's more of a general graphics problem than a Flash issue, but I've included the Flash details anyway.

Our company creates Flash presentations used in marketing (mostly) IT products and services. You can see the kind of stuff we do on our website, linked in my contact info. We do the research and writing -- where need help is in coming up and executing animation ideas. Only very basic Actionscript is required.

GoogleFu failing: Help me find this very funny flash-animation from a few years back. It's a story about the US, China, France, UK and Russia firing nukes on each other, narrated by a very funny male voice. Same guy later went on to produce flash-animated commercials for Nike Running.

Google related cartoon: A while back I saw a flash animation that showed the possible future of Google. A really bad typist is searching for pizza, and Google figures out what he means, even though the guy barely realizes it himself. I can't find this animation... does anyone have a link to it?

Vague request for a screensaver: I saw it being linked either at MeFi or at meepzorp or at some other cool blog, however: It was a b/w flash-animation that featured just all sorts of weird forms and figures shifting into each other in organic movements, occassionally a piece of colour dropping into the process. I really don't know how to describe better. There was also a screensaver file which I am looking for. I think the filename was something like "tubular" - or maybe not. I
said it was a vague request!
