who-- in the bay/northbay area-- should repair the headstock/neck joint cracks on my 1963 marcelino lopez flamenco guitar? believe it: $24.30!
Many thanks to anyone oud answer this question.

Name that tune. Specifically, the melody that starts at 8 seconds. (flash video) Also, who is Hashim Alqallaf? I've searched several variations of the name in english and arabic and haven't come up with anyone. Are there any other oud players who have a similar classical/fingerstyle/flamenco approach to the oud? Thanks for any help.

Flamenco / Spanish type Stairway To Heaven cover on Jonathan Ross

For UK MeFites and UK TV watching MeFites: Apparently on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross recently one of the guests was a band or duo playing a spanish / flamenco type version of stairway to heaven.... ...does anyone know what they were called? A friend of mine saw it and wants to buy their album but didn't catch their name. I must have weak imdb/google/tv.com-fu because I can't find it.

Oh, and the only other thing he can remember was it was either a duo or a band fronted by a guy and a girl...

Flamenco guitar lessons/self study

I play some classical guitar (mostly self-taught), and after watching a few flamenco videos on youtube and elsewhere, got enthusiastic about flamenco. How can I find a flamenco guitarist around Atlanta who would teach me? Are there good DVDs, or book/CD combinations for self-study?

What kind of music do Bedouins play?

I once spent an evening in Wadi Rhum listening to (and eventually jamming with) a bunch of Bedouin camel-jockeys / tour-guides. They played different sized sitars and what seemed to be a relative of the violin. The music used similar keys and rhythms to Flamenco, but faster, with 1/4 tone intervals and single-note lines (i.e.: no chords). The sitar players used a long plectrum, held like a pen.
What might be the name of this style of music, and what artists/recordings should I search for? After looking at this, I might have been too loose with the term "sitar". They were fretless, gourd shaped guitarlike instruments, without the apparent complexities of the Indian sitar.
