I found a beautiful handmade (a la etsy) rucksack in a thrift store that I know my girlfriend will love. I would like to fix a few things and increase its functionality (adding a handle; put in better thicker straps, etc.). Where in Toronto can I take the rucksack and ask a professional to do it? I am essentially looking for a cobbler for canvas/ a tailor not for clothes? [more inside]
IMAGE I need to fix a hollow wooden door, quick and fast. Is this possible? I only need it to look unnoticeable. Doesn't have to be perfect.
Please help me fix a broken sink sprayer attachment. This has nothing to do with pipes or else I would call a plumber. I am trying to reattach the base of the sprayer back onto the sink. The sink is stainless steel but the sprayer base may actually be plastic painted to look like metal. Pics: , , . [more inside]
I used to use and love an iOS app called GroupShot that helped you magically combine the good parts of multiple photos into one to help fix issues like when people don't smile or accidentally blink or when they aren't all looking at the camera at the same time. The app no longer works right and I can't find any others like it! Anyone know of any other apps out there that do that? [more inside]
My rice cooker stopped working! It's an old very basic model, and I suspect it's easy to fix - but I never fixed anything before! [more inside]
I've just bought my first home and moved into my new place (hooray!). I've never had a dishwasher before and as such, I haven't used it once during my first week of living in the new place. This weekend though, I ran the dishwasher for the first time and urgh, once the cycle was finished, I opened the door and the dishwasher was still full of water :( What is the likely cause and can I fix it myself? Also, all appliances in the house were supposed to be in working order.... do I have any leg to stand on in asking the seller about this?

Having successfully pried open my 85W PA-1850-02 Magsafe brick in order to fix (or possibly replace) the power cord, it doesn't look like the various repair tutorials/videos: the inside is full of a kind of white mastic/gunk. Is this perhaps melted plastic (from too much charging heat)? Is this a situation where the only (or the wiser) option is to shell out for a new brick?

So I have sent documents (birth certificates and a wedding certificate) to two different embassies in the U.S. that belong to a Middle Eastern Gulf country. One of the embassies is in Houston and the other is in Washington D.C. The documents need to be attested (verified) and then they will be sent to this Middle Eastern nation for additional processing so that my family can receive their residency permits. The documents were Fedex-ed and arrived five weeks ago. I've called both embassies and left messages. Often the email boxes are full. 1) Should I get new copies of all the documents and hire someone to walk them through the attestation process? 2) Is there someone I can hire in the U.S. to fix this problem for me? I have hardwood flooring. Part of it got messed up by dye leaking into it, another part seems to have dark stains that I think may have been caused by drink spillage. I need to fix it ASAP. Are these things I can fix myself easily, or should I call a contractor? And if I do, what type of contractor/which one should I call? [more inside]
Hi everyone. I have an old 1992 Toyota Camry. The interior vinyl has separated from the car roof, as you can see in these pictures. How do I fix this? Any suggestions very much appreciated.

My beloved umbrella is broken. Several of the arms that attach the ribs to the shaft have come unattached -- the little hinges that hold them on have twisted and rusted and broken. Is there such a thing as an umbrella repair person? Like a cobbler, but for umbrellas? If so, what is this person called? (And can you recommend one in Seattle?) If not, do you have any ideas about what other kind of tradesperson might happen to have the tools or skills to fix it?
My grandfather was one of those people who could build anything he needed and fix everything else. My dad can do much of the same but I don't know if it was as instinctual to him or he just learned it all from his father. How can I become one of these people? [more inside]

I've broken my favorite piece of a jewelry -- a solid jade bangle. It dropped on the bathroom floor and broke into 2 pieces (pics 1 2). When I put the two pieces together it doesn't look too bad (i.e. I think it was a "clean break" with no additional tiny pieces missing), so I'd like to fix it. Can I do this myself and will it look not horrible? What type of stuff could I use to glue the pieces together? If the answers to the previous questions are no and none, do you know of someone (jeweler/stone person) who could fix it in the DC/MD area? [more inside]

The "hanging bolt" or "pivot bolt" assembly which held the rear derailleur to the frame of my son's old mountain bike disassembled while he was riding it and vanished. Is it possible to find generic replacement parts or does it need a whole new derailleur (it's an old Suntour Accushift \alpha-2000)? What's the cheapest way to get this bike running at this point?

I just bought a new condo (yay!) but the shower water is not ideal (boo!). It gets almost hot, but not quite. I know that I can adjust the temperature on the water heater in the basement, but the water in the rest of the house gets very hot, so I feel like there's something shower-specific. From Googling, it sounds as though there's probably a blockage. Can you explain to me, like I'm a child, how (and if) I can deal with this? [more inside]

I have a Keurig B31. I love it, but it's already not working right after just a week of use. The problem comes when I put water into the resevoir, open up the head to put in a cup, close the head (which should then allow me to brew) but instead leads back to a cycle where it keeps asking me to add water, then open the head. When it's finally ready to brew it makes about half of what it should, and it also seems like there's water building up in the reservoir (which, according to the guide, shouldn't happen as each brew should empty whatever is in the reservoir). Is there anything I can do to reset the machine or otherwise make it work correctly? [more inside]
