Going on vacation to Germany and Italy for 2 weeks. Looking for ways to try to stay fit while traveling. We will be staying with friends in Germany and may have access to a Gym, but will be staying in a house in Italy with no gym access. Any ideas for this? Possibly equipment that I could take that would assist?

I'm a 35 yr old female, 5'6", 120lbs, in good general shape (walk loads, work out) who has never been able to achieve a single-push up. It's a key move to many of the workouts I want to do, but most strength-building programs assume that even the weakest can do at least one. What should I do? [more inside]

What are some of your favorite and most creative exercises? I am looking for fun and effective things to mix up my routine. Stuff that will make the guy next to me say 'What the f*** is that?' Stuff like 'Wall Balls', 'Jumping Burpees', and 'Double-Unders'. Honestly I just like to mix it up to prevent boredom. I have already seen all the exercises on the CrossFit website. Extra points if it involves props like medicine balls and tires.

Help me improve my pushups. I've been doing martial arts 5 nights a week (M-F) for 9 months now. We do anywhere from 30-150 pushups a night, but I'm incapable of keeping up with the rest of the class and have not really improved much since I started. [more inside]

My office is participating in a wellness program and we need a name for our team. The emphasis for our team is on exercise rather than dieting, but losing weight is most definitely a goal. At the moment there are 12 of us, but one other person might join. So far most of the suggestions have included "dozen" in the name, and are pretty lame. Other info that might or not help: our department's name is Central Transcription Services (as in medical transcription), we’re part of a large university hospital, and we are, of course, referred to as CTS. I suck at coming up with catchy names, but I know quite a few of you are good at this. I'd love to be the one to submit a fun name, any ideas?

My question is pretty simple. Is it possible to get definition and tone using only push-ups and crunches? I cycle everyday for cardio (and practicality), but I'm looking to work my upper body more without investing in a gym membership or weights. Basically I'm looking for a good toning/muscle-building workout using nothing other than my own body. If this is possible, does anyone have some good routines to suggest?

I can't seem to find the time to do any kind of sport these days months years, but I'm still pretty fit. Even though, I'd like to build some muscles (à la Lester Burnham, you know, "I want to look good naked!").
I can't do push-ups anymore because of my back pains, so I'm looking for easy exercices, like "do this 100 times" or "do this for a minute" (or more), to pratice every day whe[r|n]ever I am (right before I take a shower is good) to improve mainly my torso, but why not other parts aswell.

Physical Exertion. I work from home and drink Guinness and so am getting heavier than I'd like to be, so i want to do some exercise. I'm not fat, but will become so. I also have trouble getting to sleep; my doctor says it's because I don't physically exert myself enough to become sleepy.

Can anyone suggest some good exercise? My difficulty is, I have no interest at all in competitive sports (no killer instinct) nor body building to look like Arnie. I have mild asthma and used to smoke; I also have mild Multiple Sclerosis. Is Yoga exertion enough, or is it more meditative? Is there a martial art that would suit me?

I have bad back problems and want to exercise in such a way that my back will not get stressed. Situps can lead to steroid shots in the back so you can see I'm rather limited. Also, I have no ACL in one knee so high impact is out. While we are at it, solo activities (like swimming) are mind numbingly boring so they are out too. What are some things I can do to hold off the gut?
