What is the name of this book that is tangenitaly about fly fishing?

My SO asked for this for his birthday and I forgot the title. It's a book about a guy who takes a break from his (tech/math/physics??) career and does a lot of fly fishing. It has a MC Escher bird-to-fish print on the cover and may have been featured somewhere like BoingBoing. Any help?

Dead Fish Wedding

I've been performing weddings as a side gig for going on two years now. One of my trademarks is seamlessly working a few things related to the couple's interests into the ceremony. But the next couple? They like fishing and the Grateful Dead. If you know any literary allusions or jokes or stories or what have you that could tie fishing into a wedding, that would be much appreciated. If you know the Dead well enough to recommend romantic or relationship-oriented lyrics from their catalog, also good. If you can somehow do both of those things and find Dead lyrics that invoke love and fishing, YOU ARE A MIRACLE AND I LOVE YOU.

Can I just hang a line off the sailboat and score a fish dinner?

So I am spending next week on a friend's sailboat, mostly in the Canadian San Juan islands. I was menu planning and it occurred to me: The ocean is FULL OF FISH. Couldn't I just drop a line overboard as we cruise and pull it up later with a tasty fish dinner attached? Or when we are anchored off shore overnight? And if so what simple gear would do the trick? I own basic freshwater spinning gear.

Fiction and Non-Fiction Books About Fishing

Have rods, tackle & permit, will travel near Seattle.

I just acquired a couple of light-duty (i.e. inappropriate for river salmon) fishing rods, I've received a primer in selecting tackle and setting everything up, I know my knots, I've got my permits and a Discover Pass, and my cooler is ready for some fresh catch. Where, within a 40 minutes' drive of Seattle, can I go catch delicious fish that I can cook and eat? Any recommendations for location-specific books or other resources geared toward an absolute beginner who is more enthusiastic about the food than the sport? [more inside]

Help me catch trout

Trout fisherpeople. I must feed my family (or eat at sonic) I will be at Gastons weekend after next. I plan to do the lazy man and fish from the bank rather than venturing out in a boat (rod and reel not fly). Give me a list of what I need in my trout tool box. I'm starting out clean. No rod, no reel, no other equipment including line, sinkers and bait. I'll have a knife and I think I remember how to clean a trout but that's about it. Any equipment, bait, technique, etc. advice greatly appreciated. I do not want to end up eating at the hotel restaurant although it is tasty. I want to buy as much of what I might need before i get there. Prices escalate as you near the site. Thanks (cleaning pointers also appreciated).
