I'm ready to dip a toe into the madness of the Seattle housing market. I'm looking for a 3br anything (condo or house) in North Seattle. I've been stalking Zillow, it looks maybe kinda sorta possible to find something we could afford. I have no idea what to do next. [more inside]
While dating online I am planning on meeting a man tomorrow for a first date. He proposes his city. At the same time I am trying actively to progress in making better choices in men, being assertive, trusting my gut, realistically doubting myself, and am afraid of being too negative ("cutting off my head because of a toothache", or an English equivalent). Between two parents sharing 50/50 custody, their MSA states: "If either party is unable to care for the minor child during their designated time, they shall each give the other the first right of refusal in caring for the minor child." Given that language, if the custodial parent sends someone else to pick up the child afterschool just to bring the child back to same parent, can the non-custodial parent invoke right of first refusal and insist that s/he be the one to do pick up and drop off of the child? I understand that ROFR exists to maximize the time a child can spend with a non-custodial parent and help maintain consistent contact of the child with the both parents. Just wondering if it applies to such a short period of time (5 minutes to/from school).
I have two more long runs before the actual race in March and I'd like to break in everything I plan to wear/take in the next week or so. Can you MeFi runners suggest some good gear? List of what I think I need inside. [more inside]
How soon do you realize that the person you are with is the one you are marring? I am sure everyone is different and have a different opinion about this but, I just started to seeing this guy(we both are in 40s), we are doing great, we've been together every day since the day we met. I'm at his house every night and waking up with him every morning. So the things are more than great. But the bottom line is, I only have known him for 2 months. Yes we know alot about each other, he's trying to learn about me fastest he can. I see that every day. but 2 month is still 2 month. [more inside]

I just got my Endorsement after taking the Ride Oregon 3 day class and I am itching to get on my own ride and tool around! I am looking mostly at older Hondas (CM4000 specially) as I like their look and they have a reputation for being pretty bulletproof and great first riders. I, as of today, have not sat on any Hondas other than some older dirt bikes when I was younger and a old co-workers 250cc. So what I am asking is, will this bike fit me (6'2, 183lbs, 30' inseam)? If not, any models you can recommend? Since this is my first, I'm not looking to go over 700cc, with a 400-600cc non-cruiser being ideal for my eventual commute on the freeways.
My forte as a teacher is not the decorating/bulletin boards/cutesy stuff so I was hoping to solicit input. Tomorrow we have a leadership themed walk through for the parents (it is our year-long equity theme). My class had students write about how they are a leader ("pushing in my chair, helping friends when they fall down on the playground," etc.) We took photographs of them in super hero poses with a super hero cape to go with the blurb they wrote. So they each have a little poster with their photograph as a superhero and the way they are a leader and now we need to put it up in the hall fancily. Now we need a pun or background display for their work. Like the other teachers have things like a big mirror made out of tin foil and it says, "I can see the leader in me." Stuff like that. So, super hero themed + leadership + charming but also doable within a day in terms of the decorative work load and supplies needed. Any ideas?
I live in Vancouver and I'll be looking to buy a condo this year somewhere in Coquitlam or New Westminster. I've never bought a place before and have literally no idea what I'm doing. I'm told a Mortgage Broker is my best bet but how do I choose the right one for me? [more inside]
-PC action-adventure game, mostly action, but I do remember simple adventure things like moving blocks or unlocking doors -first person view -can't remember how health stats and weaponry were viewed -Had to rescue a woman (go figure), but not sure if she was royalty or anything, just motivation to do the journey -Started in kobold (or kobolt) caverns, there was a spider cavern section where it was tunnels burrowed by the spiders themselves, a lava cavern/mining level where you had to break down a rock borer (might have been a laser) -mid to late 90's probably because it's graphics were close to Quake 2, just not as smooth [more inside]

Hey! So i am about to buy my very first vehicle and am pretty excited about the whole deal. My budget is no more than 5k and I am looking to get me a used small pickup truck. It seems like my best options are either a T100, Tacoma, frontier or a b2500. Are those considered reliable used pick ups? What kind of year/mileage y'all think 5k could bring? I am thinking a 2000 with about 120000 miles. Does that seems reasonable? The truck should be very reliable and could take some abuse, I don't really care about towing much because it will be used mainly for tools. I know VERY little about cars and mechanics and wouldn't even know the first thing to look out for when looking at a potential truck... I've been told to insist on a clean title, see that the engine and transmission are in good order, and pass it by a reliable mechanic. Anything else? Thank you for your time!

For work I am making a complete database of all existing (reasonably current) data on Native American health/risk factors. But I know next to nothing about the area. What are some surveys I should look at? It would be especially helpful if the data were at the tribal level of analysis. I'm at a bit of a loss and I'd appreciate any help you could offer! Thanks in advance.

I watch a lot of non-fiction shows, like Mythbusters and the First 48. Throughout these shows, often things are blurred on purpose. In Mythbusters, they blur brand names. On the First 48, they blur numbers, license plates, faces. I was just curious (A) how much something like that would cost in terms of dollars, (B) how long it would take to do - say an episode, and (C) what computer program they use to do this. Thanks!
