Firefox Frustration

WebDesignFilter: Why is Firefox resizing my images? My site displays a random image to visitors in the top right corner. When I view the image in IE (in Windows) or Opera (in OSX) the image displays correctly. However, when I view the image in Firefox (in OSX), it is smaller (and therefore blurry).

You can see the problem by following these steps:

1. Visit the homepage: http://warandhealth.com/.

2. If you are in Firefox, the image in the top right is resized (slightly smaller) than it should be. If you are not in Firefox, the image is displayed correctly.

3. If in Firefox, right click on the image and select "View Image". This displays you the non-resized image.

4. Click the back arrow navigation bar.

5. Click the forward arrow in the navigation bar. Now are seeing the resized image.

6. Click on the image once and firefox will display the image in the correct dimensions.

It does not matter if I specify the image dimensions in CSS or even html, Firefox always resizes the image.

Why is this? How can I make firefox display the image correctly?

configuration of vista breadcrumb bar/firefox second tab row

Is it possible to trim Vista Breadcrumb sections so that the breadcrumb bar doesn't clip off most of the path in long titles? I.e. anything over say, 10 characters gets cropped, so that long paths can be shown?

Also, is there a way to fix the glitchy second row of tabs in firefox? I want the second row of tabs to have the same height as the first, so that graphics don't go all screwy.

Firefox freezes when downloading, help!

I download a lot of images from the net. Using Firefox, the browser freezes while the file downloads. IE does not. I hate using IE. How do I make Firefox allow me to surf around while downloading? I should add this is only the case when I use right click, "save as," and not when I click a prompted download. I think it happens for all files downloaded this way, not just images.

Like a disaffected grad student, for some reason my firefox won't finish

I like to think I'm a reasonably smart guy. But after a dozen google searches and innumerable hours spent on tech boards I'm stumped. The last few images on every web page I go to will NOT load. What gives? Like I said, usually I'll follow whatever instruction I'm given online and it clears stuff up. But for this one, no one really seems to have a clear answer

-I have a 2 month old superfast inspiron e1405 with a 4mb cache and all the ram I could fit in it
-I have vista
-I have firefox
-I have mcCafee
-I've uninstalled every firefox add-on but tabmixplus, foxmarks, download statusbar, IEtab, foxytunes and talkback. It's still happening.
-The problem happens whether I'm on crappy coffee shop wireless or on my superfast LAN at work
-If I right click on any picture it appears instantly
-IN possibly related news, it takes up to 15 minutes for my google reader to finish loading.
-pages seem to load pretty quickly initially and then just stall out, sometimes indefinitely, in the latter portion of loading

So what gives? Any ideas people?

Why won't images show up on my website when viewed in Firefox? From a friend:
How can I force Firefox to keep images in its cache?

I'm looking for a way to access a very slow, graphics-intensive website more quickly. How can I force Firefox to keep this website's images in its cache? A website that I need to be able to access very quickly later in the week (for registration purposes) is unbelievably slow. Much of its slowness stems from the fact that it is graphics-intensive. Normally, I would simply turn off "Load Images" in Firefox, but because of the website's poor design, it's too difficult to navigate without images.

I'm looking for a way to force Firefox to keep the images that this website uses in its cache. I'm having problems in this regard, because the images expire from the cache within hours of being loaded. (I learn this through about:cache.)

How can I force Firefox to keep this website's images in its cache?

Logo NoGo in Firefox

Can you see why my website's logo is messed up in Firefox but displays okay in IE Now How often does that happen instead of the other way around.
My web page is http://www.nh.gov/treasury . It is a straight HTML page but because the logo is changed based on the Department that is being displayed on the page the image is broken into several pieces.

The lower right hand part of the logo displays incorrectly in Firefox. I don't have control of the layout of the logo as we are part of the NH.gov portal but I could alter the styles on the images for the pages on my part of the portal. Yes, the logo displays the same way on the main nh.gov pages.

Any assistance and direction you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Printing .jpgs

Printing .JPG images from the internets- help! [mi] So, I have a large image in a tab in Firefox (in Windows XP). This image is scaled down to fit in the window. When I print it out in this form, it takes up a portion of the page. When I print it out zoomed in, it prints out larger than the page. I want this image, which is of 1 8.5by11 document, to print out taking up the whole page, but no more. How can I do this efficiently?

Firefox image resizing driving me mad

FireFox filter. This is driving me mad. My website has a little JavaScript (inside) to drag in a random image. Each image is 150 wide (varying heights). IE displays them fine. Firefox 1.0 resizes certain images. Anyone know why? The JavaScript specifies the width (but not the height as each image is different):

var choice = pickRandom(range);
document.writeln('<a href="about.htm"><img src="images/bl'+choice+'.jpg"
class="randompic" width="150" alt="blah"></a>');

It's easy to see the browser re-sizes them as it has that wierd pixellated quality that browser-resized images have (+it spills out of the containing div).

The images are at the bottom of the yellow side-bar (self-link, sorry); refreshing the page brings new ones. I've checked Bugzilla, but can't help feeling that I'm going mad ...
