Chrome clone that isn't made of Chrome?

Are there any browsers that are essentially Chrome clones in function and appearance, but aren't Chrome and don't share any common code? I really like it and find it easy to use, but it kills my computer when I use it (we're talking forcing hard reboots, etc.). So does firefox, incidentally (but less often for some reason).

I tried Iron, but it is the same code, just with the 'send data to google' removed.

When I type in a url into the address bar in Internet Explorer (v 6.0.29) it automatically opens up the page in Mozilla Firefox (v.5.0) - how can I force the page to just open up in Explorer? (I've scoured preferences to no avail) (Windows XP- home)

Does IE7-like RSS Reader exist for FireFox?

I love IE7's built-in RSS/feed reader. I hate, hate, hate IE7's slowness and general, overal crapiness. I would love to use FireFox, but I want the same kind of RSS reader functionality. Is there is a plugin or extension for Firefox that exists and works just like IE7's RSS reader? I am looking for the exact same or as close as possible functionality for an RSS reader in FireFox as found build-in in IE7. I'd like it to integrate into the browser. I can't stand FireFox's live bookmarks.

Things I'm not looking for: Web-based RSS readers, desktop RSS clients, or FireFox extensions/plugins that don't work like how IE7's functionality does.

Does this kind of tool/functionality/plugin/extension exist for Firefox?

(btw, I'm running the current version of Firefox).

Thanks.

Make links in pdf files open in Firefox?

Why do links in pdf documents open in Explorer instead of Firefox?

I'm using Acrobat 6.0 to display documents containing links to web pages. Clicking on the links in the Acrobat window opens the corresponding web pages in Explorer instead of Firefox, my default browser. How can I make them open in Firefox, always?
Can firefox mimic the Windows integration of IE?

If throw an address like c:\my documents into an IE address bar, it opens up the folder in windows explorer. If I put the same thing in a firefox address bar, I get an html page that displays the folder/files as a series of links down the page. Anyway to get firefox to replicate the IE behavior on this type of address?

Why are some major websites suddenly not working on my computer?

Why are some major websites suddenly not working on my computer? My Internet works perfectly except for a few major websites like bankofamerica.com and unlv.edu. Both Firefox and Internet Explorer can't connect to them. I've always been able to connect to them until about four days ago.

I have ZoneAlarm for my firewall, but I haven't made any changes to it, nor have I installed any new software or hardware or anything.

How can I make these websites work again? I really appreciate your help!

Freaking out Firefox

My Firefox (v: 1.5.0.7) is freaking out. Some sites are not loading at all, some are loading funny (Example: Screenshot
HERE)
Some load just fine. Everything in Explorer (yuk) works fine.

I can honestly say I did nothing different like adding programs or changing settings. Just when i started up this morning it was doing this. I'd rather not have to reinstall Firefox unless i can preserve all the settings (extensions, passwords, bookmarks...)

Sorry for the disjointed question :-)

I want to explore!

NotFirefoxagainfilter: How do I stop from having to clear my cache every 5 minutes? I have had issues with Firefox loading my Gmail ever since I created separate XP logins for me and my roommates (we share a computer in our extra room/office). I have created profiles in firefox, but the same problem keeps happening even with the new ones.

Other times, Firefox would stall on loading a page and won't let me load other pages unless I close the program and open it up again.

My roommate is a little slow on the uptake and because of this is convinced that IE is superior to Firefox. I need to make a believer out of her or she screws up my computer again (as she had a few times before)!

I have tried looking this issue up on Metafilter/Google but nothing exactly fits my problem, or maybe I'm not using the right keywords. Thanks again!

running firefox with outlook web access

is there a way to make firefox work with outlook web access, in "premium" mode? my company just switched to the incomparable outlook web access, which looks quite nice in internet explorer but gives you a shitty, feature-poor version in anything else. i want to use firefox, as IE obviously sucks (i had no idea you couldn't even right-click and save the page, for example), and it doesn't seem like there's anything inherently special about IE that would make it run better with outlook premium; just regular M$ stuff. anyone have any suggestions? familiarities with the program?

Pulling data from one window and pasting to another automatically - how?

Looking for a macro program or method that captures and pastes text among different browser windows? I'd like to automate pulling names and addresses off an online invoice open in a browser window, and pasting the data to the correct fields in another window for online shipping. Is there a reliable way to automate some of this? The same name, address, zip, is captured from one window and pasted to another window with the same open field boxes, name, address, zip.
