I use HTTPS Everywhere with Firefox on my Android to use HTTPS connections by default. Consequently, whenever I try to connect to public wifi that redirects you to an agreement page my phone flips out and refuses to connect because the certificate is invalid. This can be circumvented with complicated wrangling. (Visiting some non-HTTPS site before the phone gets mad about my not agreeing in time and disconnects, visiting any site in the default Samsung browser.) I would like to reduce my amount of wrangling to zero. Is there a good way to do this?
How do I get Firefox (47.0.1) to stop asking me about Flash? I want to answer "Yes, I want Flash to run here, there, and everywhere, always! Stop nagging me!" [more inside]
Using Chrome. Sometime in the past, I used Firefox. When I stopped, I imported my bookmarks into Chrome. I now have multiple bookmark doodads, can't figure out how to integrate them, and can't figure out how to organize them either as they are or after they're integrated. Help? [more inside]
What's the good adblocker for Firefox now? [more inside]
I have 22 bookmarks I use on a many times every day. It was SUPER convenient for me to have all of them (Favicons only) in my bookmarks toolbar at the top of my FireFox browser. Now after Firefox updated to the latest version, they are all Favicons+Titles, and spill off the side, making me have to search for the bookmark, killing productivity. How can I restore them to their former Favicon-Only goodness? [more inside]
I use NoScript, running Firefox browser, WIN7 and WIN8.1. In recent months (absolutely in the last year,) the number of scripts that are built into many (most?) pages has increased dramatically. So then it's like whack-a-mole, enable this script and OH NO! that has just unleashed tons more scripts, it can take a long time to determine which script(s) need to be enabled to be able to reach the pertinent data, whether that data presents as text or video or whatever. I'm connecting to a laptop HD with an enclosure and trying to recover some files from it. The highest priority are the owner's Firefox bookmarks and saved passwords, since apparently some of those passwords are unknown beyond being saved in this Firefox install. I would just boot the HD, log into Windows, and go look, but while it's perfectly mountable, Windows becomes unresponsive after a short time of trying to actually run from the drive. What files do I need to be looking at, and how do I actually use them?

I've been searching Firefox add-ons specifically and googling in general but I don't see anything out there that will implement this behavior via a keystroke or right-click action: when I position my cursor in line X on a web page, I want a one-click or one-keystroke way to scroll the page down until line X is at the very top of the browser window. Following a spate of features added to Firefox in recent months which are arguably for the benefit of content-providers, rather than users, are there other otherwise friendly, open-source tools to which similar features have been added? Are there watchdog groups/resources which monitor this? [more inside]

I read a personal blog post maybe five years ago arguing from a philosophical point that no software should "die" but should persist, i.e. restarts should be seamless or unnecessary. It was written with particular regard to Firefox extensions although it also mentioned Apache. It was most likely by someone in the Mozilla-sphere (read: syndicated on Planet Mozilla), but they may have linked to a piece by a general high-profile tech blogger. Searching for obvious keywords is drawing blanks, can anyone identify or locate the blog post in question for me?
I recently bought a new Alcatel One Touch 7 Tab, running Jelly Bean. It has a lot of problems, often it takes several seconds to respond, apps freeze, it has graphical issues with some games that aren't necessarily new, some apps don't even run, and it hangs when going from one app to another. I recently bought a Lenovo Flex 2-14 laptop from a big chain. I'm having problems with programmes hanging, running slowly, the screen apparently updating in a flickery manner as if it were a machine from many generations ago. All drivers are up to date but am I missing something? [more inside]
Every time I visit Facebook, my Firefox history tab inexplicably lists "Boingo | the worldwide leader in wi-fi software and services." When I click on it, it takes me to my FB page. I'm totally confused why it's there or how to get rid of it. Any advice?
For some months now, seemingly at random, Firefox's UI will completely freeze up. Sometimes it happens after a couple of days, but sometimes after just a few minutes. When it happens, usually it's stuck and must be closed. There's a few weird things about it though, which lead me to believe it might be a Flash or hardware acceleration problem.... [more inside]
There are odd characters appearing on top of my Firefox window at the active tabs. Is this just a harmless glitch? [more inside]
For the past few weeks, I can only use Facebook on a particular Firefox profile when using my laptop. Facebook does not load (stuck on loading screen) on my other Firefox profiles even if I create a new profile, as well as in Chrome and IE. Sometimes, when I access Facebook, it takes a long time trying to load but displays only a severely broken snippet. All other Web sites load properly. Does any of you have suggestions on how I can fix this problem? [more inside]
Firefox has stopped playing many, but not all, embedded videos for me. I just see a big blank spot where the video is supposed to be. This happens even if I load without extensions/plugins and I've already reinstalled Firefox (in fact, that's what started it). Help? [more inside]
I've saved a lot of files using the Firefox add-on "Scrapbook." Several thousands of files, actually. It has occurred to me that the internet being what it is, it is unlikely that the extension will work forever. I'm hoping that there is another way I can make permanent copies of webpages for later perusal. [more inside]
I have a PC with three hard drives running Windows 7. It recently started crashing to BSODs and being unable to reboot (I would press the power button and be presented with a blinking cursor for the next 1000 years) so I ordered recovery discs from ASUS, resigned myself to losing everything on my boot drive, and inserted them into the optical drive. Unusual browser behaviour in Firefox - I can't re-open closed tabs any more. For a long time I've made use of Firefox's 're-open closed tabs' feature - (CTRL-SHIFT-T on a PC). I would shut a tab just as I realised I still needed it, hit the keys and it pinged back just as it was. However, in the last couple of months this functionality has totally vanished and that key combo simply brings up a new blank window. What have I broken? In a related development, about 50% of the time, CTRL-clicking on a browser link doesn't open the link in a new tab, it opens a blank tab instead. Any suggestions welcome.

I've decided to switch over completely to Google Chrome, and on my work laptop it's NBD. My home laptop, however, asks me EVERY DAMN TIME I START CHROME if I want to make it my default browser; clicking OK does nothing (Firefox is still the default). More inside... [more inside]

Hello: I understand that Google Chrome plans to continue supporting the Windows XP operating system for another year. Does anyone know Firefox's position concerning this support issue? Thanks in advance. Mckoan1
I read a forum that uses emoticons a lot, and there is a specific one I'd like to hide. I don't mind the rest, so a solution that excludes/disables that single file would be preferred. However if there are only ways to hide them all, I'm open to that, too. I'd prefer solutions compatible with Chrome and OSX 10.9.2, but I use other browsers and operating systems as well, so all suggestions are helpful. [more inside]
Anyone know of a Firefox or Chrome extension/utility/plugin/script etc that can monitor webpage changes every few seconds, and doesn't need to be reset every time the alert triggers? [more inside]
I am on a mac, and reluctantly use Firefox right now for some of my work. Firefox on the mac has become so slow and boggy, it is painful to work on. However, I download a lot of jpegs from webpages, and in Firefox, you can have the file automatically open with one click in Photoshop (or any other software), without having to download, go to the finder, and so forth. Is that feature available in either Chrome or Safari? I have done some googling, but can't seem to find anything.
Can anyone point me in the direction of something that works? [more inside]

I apparently have bad or damaged Google Web Fonts installed on a Windows 7 machine. Fun fact, they are not in the Windows Fonts directory. Text is coming up gnarly, super aliased, big and chunky in both FireFox and Chrome as they appear to be loading a local cache of the font(s) as opposed to hitting Google for them. Where are they? How can I fix this? [more inside]
