A Facebook friend posted this comic panel on my wall tonight. It's three skull-headed characters in green jackets, walking away from what looks like an apartment or factory on fire. The middle zombie is saying "Hurry! We must burn more buildings!!" I am dying to find out where it is from, but my search-fu has failed to turn up anything more than the single panel, with no further information. Any clues, anybody?
Have you or someone you know ever worked in a hotel? Or are you a firefighter? If so, I am studying fire safety and would like to know what (if anything) hotel employees are trained to do in the event of a fire? [more inside]
In an attempt to be all healthy and virtuous, I tried to make kale chips in the microwave. I nuked a small plate of plain, unadorned kale. The kale WENT UP LIKE A FREAKING FIREWORK (sparks, flames, scary noises). Multiple times (hey, I learn by doing). WHY?! [more inside]
A paper bag caught fire in our microwave and charred the insides while it was burning for about a minute. The microwave shut off during the fire, but now it seems to work normally. Safe to use? [more inside]
Precocious 6 y.o. daughter has suddenly developed an intense fear of fire. If the stove is on, she is sobbing or screaming or fretting. Same thing with the (outside) grill and my neighbor's fire pit. Logic, reason, discussion are all fruitless; as long as there is visible fire, she's terrified. How to help her cope? [more inside]
We will be building a deck in a few weeks, and another aspect we would like to have with our new outdoor environment is a nice small fire to sit around for the cooler Minnesota evenings. What are our options without risking burning the deck (and/or the house) down? [more inside]
What does it feel like to walk across a thick carpet of cooled ash, like after a forest fire or a house fire? I'm writing a book and I didn't think about the sensation until right now, and I'm quite clueless. Thank you!
I'm scheduled to leave for a much-needed vacation in about two hours, and my dishwasher just died in a hot & smelly way -- is it about to catch fire after I drive away? Sorry - I'm paranoid and in a rush and I need you people to help me think. [more inside]

We're under contract to buy a house. Two weeks before closing, a contractor performing agreed-upon presale repairs caught the house on fire. We've got a lot of questions about what happens next. [more inside]
Our new Kindle Fire is great, but it tells us we need to update our Flash Player when we want to watch Glee. If I try to DL the new file from the Adobe message, it seems to stall right after it starts. If I go to settings, it shows that Flash is " Always on". I haven't tried any other shows on FOX, but it seems to work fine for NBC stuff. Any Ideas?
So, now that the oven fire is out, what do I do now?! [more inside]
Our new apartment (in Oakland, CA, if that matters) has a functional fireplace. Yay! Every other fireplace I've ever been around had a chain or handle of some kind to pull to open the flue. There's nothing of the sort here. Boo! Is this some kind of strange California fireplace without a flue? How can I tell? [more inside]
I am attending a bachelorette party next weekend on Fire Island, NY and live in Boston, MA. I've been unable to find an efficient route that doesn't include 2 ferry rides and would appreciate any suggestions that allow me to take my car as far as possible.

Seeking urban bonfire imagery in rap videos. Usually the fire is just in the background and/or a crowd is gathered around it, while the rapper does his (usually his) thing. I feel I've seen plenty but am blanking on specific examples. Not thinking of scenes where the rapper is walking away in triumph from some scene of vengeful or simply spectacular explosion, however. (Sorry for horrid pun in title.)
What is this? I've had it hanging on my wall for a year or two. It was found on the sand below the water line at the Fire Island National Seashore/Wilderness. It's lightweight and friable, like a sea creature. It's 24 cm (9.4 inches) long by 11 cm (4.3 inches) wide. 24 cm is 1.7 monkey skulls, if that helps.

Does anyone remember this old game that came bundled with windows 95 (or possibly 98)? It involved walking around collecting different boots that let you walk across fire, ice, ect. I think it may have been called something like sim's sims or something like that. Pardon my lack of usable description of the game - I was 6 when I played it, so my memory is a bit fuzzy. Thanks! -Charlie
