The standard format for a romantic comedy has both key characters introduced very early in the script/movie -- say, in the first ten pages/minutes. I'm looking for examples of romantic comedies where one of the romantic leads is introduced later in the movie.

Happy May 1, everyone! Movie questions - I'm putting together a film series showing radical comedy about being working class/pink collar/lower-middle-class, mostly drawn from the sixties, seventies and early eighties. Or at least I hope I am - this was inspired by realizing how great
9 to 5 is and a vague memory of seeing reruns of other movies with a similar sensibility on the late show in the late eighties and early nineties.

Are any of the
Carry On films any good? If so, please tell me which one you feel is the best, with your rationale for why that is. Because I would be using this question as a possible springboard to watching one or more of the films, I'd like to request that you not include any of the actual jokes in your answers
(e.g., "'Nurse, where's this man's tits?' Classic line!" None of that, please).

Back in the mid 90s I and a friend were up at 4am and saw a comedy so gloriously quirky we couldn't believe we were watching it. It was on TNT or another network that broadcasts back to back B-movies.

For his birthday, my dad wants DVDs of German films/TV series. But they can't be grim or weird. German comedies are the safest bet. Do those exist?

Need a movie id. I saw it in the 80's and the plot was that the U.S.S.R. had created an "Anytown, USA" and kidnapped some americans to populate it with to study/observe. I thought it was titled "Back in the U.S.S.R." but alas the one on IMDB is not it.

In light of the horrendously awful "I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry," are there any GOOD (i.e. both funny and non-homophobic) comedies about straight people either having to pretend they're gay or, more generally, about straight people slowly but surely letting go of their prejudices towards LGBT people?

Two-part Britcom question. First, what was the name of the show involving a man teaching an English as a second language class? Second, why are most Britcoms still shot on videotape, whereas most American shows are shot on film (or that version of video that makes it look like film)?
