PDF-filter: I'm running a website that allows users to upload files. I'm looking for a converter that would allow User B to view a files uploaded by User A, even if User B doesn't have the same software used to develop the file. My guess is converting everything (that's not a simple image) to PDF would work, but my Google-fu is failing me and I can't find a PHP script or Apache module that will do this. [more inside]

FileFormatFilter: Asking for a (not terribly computer-proficient) labmate in need. He uses flexible photomasks, printed on some kind of transparency. He has a company that will do this. He also has a layout, currently in CIF and GDSII format, with a very fine grid of dots. The company only accepts EPS or PDF. A client sent me his company's logos in .PSP (Paint Shop Pro) format, however I am on a Mac and would like to edit them in Photoshop. I need a program that will convert .PSP to .PSD, while maintaining the original layers in the .PSP file. I don't want to have to manually remove all of the white space surrounding the logo, so keeping the layers intact is very important. Does anyone have any suggestions? [more inside]
