Looking for Muzaky instrumentals

Hi all -- I'm looking for instrumental music that has a kind of Muzaky, stimulus progression work vibe to it -- bureaucratic is good. Retro, too. Something along the lines of The Dust Brothers' "Corporate World" from the Fight Club soundtrack. Thank you in advance for your help.

Movies with the best fight scenes

I'm in the mood for a good action film with great fight scenes, if the story is also good, the better but I'll watch it primarily for the violence and choreography. That said, I'm not overly fond of the Jackie Chan-style kind of comedy action or those eastern martial arts films with this peculiar brand of Kung Fu with ropes and flying. And it is essential that you can actually see whats happening, not these insanely fast cuts. [more inside]

How do you move on after a really bad fight?

My hubby and I had an enormous blowup a few months ago and it's still bothering me. I am seeing a counselor to work through some of the residual feelings and depression that have come in the aftermath of the fight, which is helping a lot. I would like some additional insight from other MeFites about how you have dealt with difficult feelings with a partner after a really bad incident. [more inside]

How to limit impact of stress/anger from fights/arguments?

I had a fight with a friend through text the other day. It wasn't a huge fight in the great scheme of things, but I got much angrier than the situation called for. The stress from the fight messed me up for the rest of the day, and severely impacted my productivity level. I need advice on how to not have such a powerful reaction to upsetting events, when the reaction seemingly happens before I even have time to think. Details inside. [more inside]

Songs that make you grit your teeth and kick life in the ass

Pretty straightforward, really. What are your favorite songs that speak to grappling with real, significant struggles, keeping your head up, continuing to fight and plug along? Songs that say "things will get better" without minimizing the depth of the current pain? Songs that give you a burst of fight and grit when you're feeling helpless? Not relationship-specific. I've been listening to "Ooh Child" and of course the classic Tupac - any genre welcome.

Acting Prior to Thinking

Several years ago a psychology experiment found that in emergency situations, the body seems to engage in fight/flight before the cortex determines that, say, a lion is running at us. Help living with a wimmen hatin' husband with Asperger's
