Leaving in just 10 minutes as a chaperon on a 4th grade field drip to a California Mission ... memorable things from your elementary school field trips? Songs on the bus? Activities? I'll give away a few coin cell flashlights, but beyond that I'm curious what the hive thinks might be fun to try!?! We're leaving at 8:45, but I'll only be able to check this computer for the next 10 minutes!

I am looking for a good fieldtrip location for 50 middle school students in the New York City area. Requirements: these students are part of an after-school computer/technology program, and the location must be at least in some way educational, and technology-themed. We have already been to: -Sony Wonder Technology Lab -The Museum of the Moving Image -The Per Scholas Computer Recycling Facility

What's your experience skiing with children? I'm planning to take my class of fifth graders to the local ski area in February, a grand fieldtrip indeed, and a first for me as a teacher. As I compose the parent-letter this afternoon, I'm wondering if AskMe readers have any tips, advice, etc. for making such an experience comprehensible to non-skiing parents and, moreover, thoroughly enjoyable for a crew of non-skiing 10-11 year olds.
