Autopager: safe to use?

Is it safe to use the Firefox extension "Autopager"? I have a question about the Autopager extension (link). As far as I can tell, when I visit a site like google.com, the extension queries a database and downloads a script that allows me to see all the results in one infinite-scrolling page (as opposed to my having to click "next"). I guess the scripts are in XPath. My question is, is this safe, or am I potentially opening myself up to attacks, like the way I hear people can use javascript?

I might not have gotten the description quite right (not as big a geek as I wish I was). In any case, I'd appreciate it if someone could give me the bottom line and tell me this extension is safe to use (or not). Thanks!

Desperately looking for downloadable videos of FFT:LW's cutscenes. So I want to create something (private) using the beautiful cut-scenes from the PSP version of Final Fantasy Tactics. I own a copy of the game, but couldn't find a way to rip the videos into my computer.

So my question is, where can I download many of those awesome cut-scenes in a reasonable resolution? And if that's not possible, how do I rip the videos myself using only (hardware-wise) a PSP (I own 2- a hacked "phat" one, and a PSP2000), a USB adapter, and a PC?

Thanks in advance, Mefites <3!

Firefox Extension and Themes Don't Show Up Post-Install

FireFoxExtension/Theme Filter
I have been using FireFox for a while now and prefer it to other browser offerings but am having a recurring issue that I can't seem to find any help on. Everytime I try to download and install a new theme or extension, it downloads, FireFox asks me if I want to install it, it appears to install it but the extension or theme never shows up in the relevant window. Did I change some setting to break the extensions? (MI) Somehow, some of the extensions actually seem to be usable, like the BugMeNot one. But it still doesn't show up in the window. And none of the themes show up at all ever.

Also, somehow, FireFox is no longer digesting Java properly even with all the requisite check boxes checked. I've tried reinstalling it but it doesn't make any difference.

Efficient Browser Page Loading

I am a frequent reader of Chowhound's message boards but the several-megabytes-long message index pages are a huge pain in the ass. I usually let the whole index load and then open threads into new windows/tabs, but that's not an entirely convenient situation. Does anyone know of a Firefox extension or other work-around that will let me load some specified fraction of a specific page whenever I go to it? Then I could always load only, say, the first (and newest) 100K worth of messages on Chowhound.

Firefox and Unicode

Why does Firefox insist on loading pages with Unicode character coding, when I prefer Western character coding? The former turns high-ASCII characters like § into question marks; the latter displays these normally. Does this happen to anyone else, and can I fix it?

Firefox 0.9 on OS X 10.2.8 keeps crashing.

Firefox on OS X keeps crashing...help! (more inside) Firefox 0.9 won't launch on my girlfriend's iBook. She's running 10.2.8, with all the most recent patches. She downloads the file, puts it in her applications folder, and when she launches it, it attempts to launch and is unable to finish launching, and then, instead of stopping, it gets stuck in a loop where rebooting is the only thing that stops it.

The kicker is that I'm running 10.2.8 on a slightly older and slower iBook (mine's a 700mhz and hers is a 800mhz, I believe) and the loop thing happened once to me, and then it launched successfully and I've had no problem since.

What gives? A bit of research on Google shows that it may be the extensions which are causing the problem, but I don't even know where to start with that.

Is it possible to stop Mozilla/Firefox from truncating tooltips?

Is it possible to stop Mozilla/Firefox from truncating tooltips (or whatever the link title="popping stuff" popup things are called)? I assume this is somehow a "feature," not a bug, but it really pisses me off.
