Should I be worried about this? I went to the doctor this morning to get checked out for cold/flu symptoms; I didn't think it was serious -- I just wanted to check that I didn't have H1N1, but the doctor told me that the treatment I'd been getting for prostatitis was "highly unusual for someone in their 20s", and he said I should immediately stop taking the antibiotic I'm on (Septra/Bactrim) because I might be having an allergic reaction to it, or possibly an autoimmune reaction. is it common to have a fever with torn ligaments? I had a bike accident three days ago and for some ligaments in my arm pretty badly. I took Vicodin and ibuprofen for the first few days but now I'm just taking ibuprofen. I was just about to take my next dosage, when i decided to take my temperature. It's 100.1. I don't feel feverish or weird. Could this just be the inflammation and/or healing process? It's also pretty hot in the apartment. You're not my doctor, but any insights are much appreciated.

YANMD: After two days lying in bed, the fever has stopped, I no longer have chills, and I think I can get up and walk around. But now I have searing pain in the back of my throat - much worse than it was before. What's going on?

I am writing a fictional story about someone who lives in the slums of some small South American country. When he was ten, during a fever, an angel appeared to him and told him that he would become an FBI Agent. He may have seen a movie with FBI agents, so he has some sense of what that means. Step by step, what does he have to do to fulfill that prophecy in a real way? [more inside]

When I'm battling an infection/virus for a few days, my body temperature climbs as the sun goes down. My village elders tell me this is normal. Why do fevers get worse after sundown, but subside in the morning?

Everyday, at random, I break out in the chills. It feels like I have a fever for a few minutes. It comes and goes. Some days it happens more than others. It's like my internal thermometer / hypothalamus goes wacky. I don't quite break a sweat but I get a little balmy. Does anyone else have this problem with regulating their temperature, and if so, what have you done about it. Is my thermometer busted, or is there something more sinister at work here.

If a fever is the human body's response to pathogens, does taking medicine to bring down one's fever increase recovery time? If this is true, is it true of all medicines that treat cold/flu symptoms?

I'm trying to find a brief video clip from the movie Cabin Fever. The clip is of a young, mullet-haired boy (named Dennis) shouting out "Pancakes! Pancakes!" while doing some martial arts moves.
I've found the clip on the web before (over a year ago), but haven't been able to locate it recently. I've tried Google searches with no luck. Any help would be much appreciated.
