Tonight I used the sauna, steam room, and shower at my gym. I forgot to wear flip flops in all of them, and now I'm a little grossed out and paranoid about getting athlete's foot. Anything I can do to head potentially growing foot fungus off at the pass right away?

I've been thrilled to discover that a simple, donut shaped cushion is amazingly effective at preventing my excruciating foot pain. Yet for a small piece of foam with sticky stuff on one side, these bunion pads are awfully expensive: about 3 bucks at the cheapest, generic level. Can you suggest a cheap alternative? Something soft with a sticky side? I can easily cut out the donut shapes myself if I can find an inexpensive source of the basic material.

I'm searching for a word, possibly a technical or medical term, that I think starts with the letter p, and that defines the relationship between the bones in the feet as they apply to overall balance. Am I dreaming this word?

A couple of months ago my big toenail went black after a run. Maybe 10-15 days ago it came loose, but only on one side. Since the other side was still anchored I cut off the flapping half. Nothing's happened since then. Please advise. [more inside]

FeetFilter - Looking a great shoe insert I can put in my gym sneakers that provide anti-odor, are moisture absorbent, and provide support and cushioning. I don't want to get a cheap pair and would rather spend the money on something thats reliable and durable. Any suggestions? [more inside]

Where can you get shoes for unfortunately-footed women in London? I'm looking for shoe stores that stock large sizes but also narrow widths. The person in question has a 11.5 or 12 US/CAN shoe size, which is about a 10 or 10.5 UK size, with an AA width, which often complicates matters. Bonus points if the store sells styles that actually look good.

I have narrow ankles and fairly "large" feet (I have to wear size 10 shoes in order to have a comfortable fit). But because of my narrow ankles, I am having a hard time finding shoes that fit. I have tried thicker socks, a couple of different lacing techniques etc but nothing seems to help. My heels always move inside the shoes! Please help me!!!

I'm currently recovering from a pretty bad foot injury. Basically i was hit by a car while riding my motorcycle. My foot was smashed by the bumper and I suffered a talonavicular dislocation, which is a fancy way of saying my foot bones got disconected from the leg bones. The dislocation was reduced (owch) and now its immobilized. Someone sugested magnets would help me heal. Does anyone have experience with this? Does it work or is it nonsense? Does anyone know any other home remedies that work?
