Resources for someone who feels too much

A friend recently messaged me to ask: "Do you ever get the feeling like you feel absolutely too much about everything and you worry so much that you can't even exist anymore? I feel like I have no barrier to protect myself against all the sad and all the what ifs of the world and maybe I'm faulty." Is this anxiety, or something else? What resources can I point her to while she works toward finding the time and money for therapy? [more inside]

How do I cope with feeling rotten over SO's lack of interest in sex?

I know mismatched libidos has been discussed here before, and while that's part of my issue, I'm not really looking for ways to reignite the spark or even how to broach this subject with her. It's been broached. I'm looking for ways to better manage my feelings, especially since some of our relationship details seem to complicate this for me. Those details follow. [more inside]

Where can I find a good list of "feeling" adjectives?

In other words, I'm looking for a list of adjectives that could complete the sentence "I am feeling __." This is actually a fairly extensive group of adjectives, and I'm wondering whether this type of adjective is identified formally as a certain type of adjective (which would make it easier to find the set) or whether anyone has assembled such a list.

Relationship question: My girl friend's feeling toward her ex

I and my girl friend have been dating for eight months. I think everything is good between us so far except for few occasions where we had a disagreement in the past (my two previous questions are about those occasions). We did not have any problem recently. I introduced her to my mom, and she introduced me to hers. The major problem I have with myself is that she said she cared about her ex. [more inside]

How should people deal with screw-ups?

I am a recent law school grad, who went in with the intent of going into government/politics (i.e. not to be a lawyer) and was fortunate enough to find such a job. I did not want to take the bar, nor needed to, but decided to do so anyway because it seemed like I should (I know, terrible reason). I know for a fact that I have not studied enough and am going to fail. [more inside]

Feeling physically cold, temp is good

I have a friend who is cold all the time. He is 86 years old and has been cold for the past 5 years. His core body temperature is fine and he has gone to specialists (MD) to have this condition checked out and they have found nothing. My feeling is that it is psychological and not physical but don't want to discount that. He in not averse to going to an alternative medicine person and would just like to get past this. I know you're there.

In the very beginning of Project Grizzly, Troy James Hurtubise talks about how he "could feel a presence that was looking straight at me." Feeling that someone is looking at you seems to be a pretty common human experience, although it's usually a person, not a bear. Is there any documentation about this experience, or research into in its source? [more inside]

Who put clorox in my food?

What is causing this? Sometimes I get a strange burning feeling (for lack of a better expression; it's kind of an acid burn sort of sensation) on the roof of my mouth sometimes when I put the first bite of the day in my mouth. It especially seems strong with bread, but has also happened with orange juice, milk and other things that seem to have no relation to each other. It subsides after about 15 minutes. Does anyone know what this is, or have had similar experiences? [more inside]

Why does standing in front of an elevator give me vertigo?

Why does standing in front of an elevator give me weird vertigo? It's as though the floor were moving up and down slightly. Is it just my brain anticipating the elevator motion and landing? Or am I sensing vibrations in the floor? Or some sort of air pressure thing? Or something about a vertical line dominating my field of vision? It is really dizzying and odd. Am I insane?
