I stumbled across a producer who has had 720,659 listeners to one of her tracks. It has also been favorited 12740 times. Yet she has 12 tracks, is following 404 people and is followed by 114 people. Why doesn't she have a lot of followers? I thought I understood it and the thinking of how and why people use it, but I must not.

I like to use the Favorites bar in IE8 and IE9 for frequently accessed web sites, such as iGoogle, Google Mail, Google Reader, and (of course) Ask Metafilter. I like the favicons that appear there, but, for some reason, the Gmail favicon always appears as the generic, IE website icon. See image link
here. I've tried everything I can think of to make it look "nice" like the others, but it always looks like this, even on other computers with the Favorites linked through Xmarks. Why is this and can anyone offer a solution? Thanks!

What goodies do we need from Phoenix, AZ? Husband is going there for a few days in July, and we're trying to think of what treats he ought to bring back to New England - stuff we can't find here at home. Cactus Cooler soda and prickly pear jelly/candy are all I can think of. See's Candies would be wonderful, but would not travel well. Any other regional favorites? Thanks in advance!

How can I turn a long list of hyperlinks into either a list of filenames in Windows Explorer or a list of Favorites in Internet Explorer? Say I have 1,000 hyperlinks in a list so it is 1,000 entries long (could be in an Excel file, a Word file, or on a web page). I want to have these 1,000 hyperlinks as Favorites, which seems to be the same as converting them from the content of one file to the file names of 1,000 files. I can manually save each hyperlink as the name of a file, but if there are 1,000, and if they need to be updated every week, that would be a killer. I need an automated solution.

is there really no way to have ie7 save cached local copies of pages that you bookmark in the favorites folder? (without saving the page separately as an mht file in a different folder outside the favorites folder, that is).

I use a whole bunch of PC's - three mainly, my laptop at work, and a desktop and laptop at home...I'd like to find a way of keeping my favorites synchronised on all three OR keeping them all in one place on the web and being able to access them...oh, and I'd like the solution to be 'free' and look cool...(is there an easy way to harvest the 500 favorites on my work laptop - and turn them into a web page?)
I use IE6 on all of my PC's....but some web based solution would allow me to access all my links from other machines/browsers.

Anyone have any suggestions for a quick and versatile way to bookmarks/favorites in a multi-faceted, customizable database? I've got hundreds upon hundreds of bookmarks of "Nice Websites" that I use for inspiration and ideas, but they've grown to the point that I can no longer maintain them with just the browser. I want to be able to browse by color, style, layout, etc. Any suggestions?

one band you think I should investigate? The recommended album doesn't have to be by the recommended band. [more inside]

Now that I have a Real Job, I'm stuck working between two home computers and two work computers, all Windows systems. Bookmark management has become a nightmare. I'm looking for some sort of remote management system where I can combine all my bookmarks and manage them in my webspace, so I can access them from anywhere. I'm up to about 1500 categorized bookmarks, so a mostly automated system would obviously be preferential. Any ideas?
