I need a kid friendly Mac-based web browser

Which web browser with parenting controls for a Mac? We recently bought the girls (aged 6 and 4) an iMac. By default, we installed Safari as their web browser because it seems to have pretty decent parental controls. However, since it doesn't allow favicons, the girls (well, really, the younger one), is having a difficult time finding the sites because she can't read the bookmark bar.

I have Firefox on my Macbook and know that depending on the skins, you can see the favicons. Unfortunately, though, I've not been able to find any decent parental control scripts on Greasemonkey. Granted I'm a total dork and only installed Greasemonkey on my computer so I could install the Meta deleted thread script, so maybe I'm not looking in the right place.

Right now, the current protocol is for the girls to come running to find us any time they want to go to a new website. And it is getting old. Quickly. So, while Sophie is learning to read at a frightening pace, maybe somebody can provide insight sooner? :)

Thanks!

Favicons not showing up

How can I get Internet Explorer to show favicons? I have over 1000 favorites and use FavIconizer to download and save favicons. Besides looking pretty they help to distinguish bookmarks. I recently upgraded to IE 8 beta, and although I don't know if that is the cause, I now don't have any favicons. I have tried FavIconizer, FavOrg, AM-Deadlink and Icon Restorer and none of them work. The icons download but Explorer is either not looking in the right place or there's a bug or maybe it's a registry/folder setting somewhere because no icons show up. It's driving me nuts! If the sites are resaved then the favicons are added but obviously that would take way too long. Any help? (I don't use Firefox).

IE7 favicons

How do I make IE7 not use "favicons"? I hate seeing the damned things in my "favorites" bar.

For Firefox 2: use "about:config" and filter on "icon". Set "browser.chrome.favicons" and "browser.chrome.site_icons" to false.

Now how do I do the same thing for IE7?

How can I make favicons appear on the bookmarks toolbar in Firefox 2 on OS X?

How can I make favicons appear on the bookmarks toolbar in Firefox 2 on OS X? The default theme hides them; is there a way to undo this? I've tried editing the userChrome.css and about:config to no avail. I'm willing to try another theme, if necessary. Are there any out for FF2 that show the favicons? I read this thread, but it doesn't offer any real solution (not for FF2 anyway).

Broken Favicon?

Why can't I make the gmail and google calendar favicons show in Opera 9.01? Most of the other pages with favicons work ok, but those two do not. I prefer to just have the favicon and no text on the personal bar. Also, isn't there a way to "lock" or make favicons read only??

Is there a perfect OSX web browser out there for me?

I'm trying to find a (stable) OSX web browser that...

A) allows you to select text and right-click to search for that text in Google,
AND
B) displays bookmarks in the bookmarks toolbar as favicons (not just plain text buttons). Firefox and Safari seem to do A, Camino has B, Shiira does both but it's hella unstable on my Intel Mac mini.

Or alternately... is there a way to customise Safari, Firefox or Camino so that they do both? I've searched high and low for relevant extensions with no success.

Camino is close to perfect, but not being able to right-click and Google something thing is annoying. Or am I just in need of a good bookmarklet script that does this?

IE Favorites

Why do IE favicons stop appearing? I'll bookmark a site, and for a while it will have its nifty little favicon next to it in the Favorites menu of the browser, then POOF!, it's gone. (Please don't bother with answers like "Switch to Mozilla" or "Microsoft sucks!", I'm curious to know why this happens, I'm not soliciting opinions)
