How to manage high co2 in the home on the cheap.

I am coming to mefi for some out of the box ideas for remediating excess co2 in the home. It's high enough that I believe its causing problems. However, neither my husband and I are working, so can't afford the correct solution. I'm hoping metafilter can help with some out of the box ideas to deal with this cheaply temporarily. [more inside]

High CO2 Indoors, what's next?

I got a new withing's scale, after the old one died when our dear deceased kitty peed on it as a final goodbye. The new one has a an air quality detector built in that reads carbon dioxide. I often suspected there was excess CO2 in the house, because I have aquariums and the ph is depressed when the house is closed up for long. But the new scale confirmed it by showing a surprisingly high reading. What do I do next? [more inside]

I got what I wanted but the doctor is a quack and I don't trust him. Help?

The doctor I just saw is a quack. I knew he would be, but I set up an appointment anyway. I've been dealing with fatigue and chronic pain, and regular doctors haven't had an answer. So I set up an appointment with a doctor that practices "functional medicine" as a last ditch effort. How do I reconcile what this doctor told me with what I know about real medicine and the load of bullshit I was just fed? [more inside]

"It's all in your head." "I don't think it is." "Well you would say that."

I'm dealing with chronic pain and fatigue; after several specialists were unable to find the cause, I was referred to a pain clinic. I had an evaluation with a psychiatrist today, and at the end I asked him about his findings. Among other things, he said there was evidence of Somatization Disorder. But I don't think that is it; I think the pain has a physical cause. But if I do have Somatization Disorder, I would think that anyway. How do I determine if that is the problem or not, and if not, how do I make sure my doctors don't dwell on it. [more inside]
