Why do so many kids wear their pants 1/2 way down their asses - if not totally off their asses? Is this a fashion thing I don't know about? Do they not know that their pants are falling down?

I can't find any pants that are anything like my favorite pair. And I'm not even sure if my favorite pair is reasonably fashionable, in the first place. Help? [more inside]

We made a magazine all about pants. Not a fashion magazine or anything, just people writing/drawing/doing poems abut pants. Now it's time to launch it and I seem to need some pants-related songs for a radio show. Seems like a perfect question for the hive-mind. Any ideas?

Casual (but stylish) clothing blogs for aging hipsters?
I'm looking for some blogs that feature cool clothes that you can actually buy. Like HYA meets Etsy but for stuff beyond Ts and hoodies. [more inside]

I'm a big fan of the British version of What Not to Wear. I've been watching it for years. Trinny, one of the presenters, has always worn dresses over pants. I always thought it was one of those things only she could pull off, but in a recent episode, she tried that look on someone who is built very similar to me (tall, wide hips, narrow shoulders), and it really worked. I tried on one version of this in a dressing room this weekend, and I think it's a look that could really work for me, but I'm having trouble working out what type of dress will work the best. I think I get the type of pants that work best (flat-front without any bulky details around the waist, flared leg, etc.), but the dress part... I can't quite imagine it. Any ideas? I'm 35, so I don't want to look like a trendy little girl. You know, like this. [more inside]

My fiancee is looking into the possibility of selling clothes with custom art/text/etc. She knows about CafePress and such, but is looking for a way to get text/images on black and dark clothes. Shirts, hoodies, pants, etc.
There's always the 'custom-shirts-for-10-dollars' places, but she doesn't want to sell anything that's going to fade in a month, or is otherwise of questionable quality. Have any of you had good experiences with online companies that provide custom printing services? Would it be a good idea to look into purchasing a silkscreen machine? [more inside]

Well never thought I'd ask metafilter about this, but does anyone else have trouble finding pant sizes that fit? I'm a 30 waist which apparently is so skinny no stores carry it. Actually I can find stores that carry 30 inches but they don't fit, and when I measure they're always 1-2 inches larger. Which is a lot. It's as if stores have forgo a standard measurement sizes in favor of letting people fit into "smaller" sizes. My question is what to do? [more inside]

I'm looking for a pair of jeans I saw someone wearing on the street today. I think I saw the same pair on Gwyneth Paltrow in People recently. They're women's jeans, low-rise, dark-ish, expensive looking, (hot!). They have a horizontal seam across the knee and snaps the size of nickels down the outside of the pant leg from knee to ankle. I've called several department stores and looked online, but I just can't seem to find them again. Help?
