In my distaste for brands I tend to remove tags from my clothing, but in one case this has backfired - I found a brand of jeans which fit me perfectly. Sans tag, all I have to go on is the imprint on the buttons. It's a shield with a pointed demon tail (tangential ask: what is that pointy thing called and where does it come from?). Can you ID my jeans? Here is a photo.

Whenever I shop for pants or shorts, almost everything I try on either has a tight waist and comfortable butt, or tight butt and too-loose waist. This applies across various brands.
I like to say that I'm little in the middle but I got much back, but my proportions aren't that strange. Skinny jeans don't fit me, but I'm not going for pleated dockers, either. I wear approximately a 30" waist and 28" inseam.
Guys, can you recommend any brands that solve this problem?

Dear mefite fashionistas, please help someone who has been in the fashion wilderness for a while. For the last three years I've either been pregnant or having children. Now I'm starting to get my body back and will have to go shopping, what's the deal with jeans now? Just by looking around it seems that unfortunately skinny jeans are still in but are bootcut or anything else coming back? (Please say yes...) I remember a comment here a while back from someone who said that they were the new mum jeans, and whilst I am one, I don't necessarily want to look like that! Is this still the case? I'm also not wanting to look like a teenager either, for what it's worth. Aim for mid 30s. What should I be buying?

I'm on the hunt for pants that fit. I have skiers' thunder thighs, love handles that are slightly larger than my hips and no butt. I'm on the lookout for skinny jeans in dark, unadorned washes, for under $100. The closest fit I've found is Target's fit 3
, but it aint great. Suggestions? More hip-shaped snowflake details inside... [more inside]

I'm a Former Fat Kid who's had to exercise religiously to stay in some kind of (refrigerator-like) shape as an adult. My distribution of fat and muscle means that I have huuuuge
glutes and quads. Pants are therefore my enemy. Help me find a fit! [36yo/M] [more inside]

The era of skinny women's jeans has been here for a while, but I've still got a closet full of my perfectly good boot-cut and flared jeans. Can I wear these judiciously (even among young people) without looking embarrassingly out-of-touch? If not, should I try to alter them, or is there a chance they'll come back into style in a year or two anyway? [more inside]

I'm taking my wife shopping for Valentine’s Day to buy new jeans. She's tall-ish (5'8" or so) and has very long legs. What stores are our best bet in the Tampa, Fla. area? [more inside]

Short waisted? Long waisted? How do you find out? I *think* I'm short waisted, since the crotch on most of my pants and tights hangs down to my knees. How do you measure? Where oh where could I find pants that don't either show my posterior or make me feel like M. C. Hammer? Please help me settle this once and for all. [more inside]

I heard today that if you sit in a bathtub wearing your new jeans, and let them dry on you, that theyll fit better. Has anyone ever tried/heard this?

I like to have a pair of jeans to wear for smart but casual occasions. I want to maintain the unvarying blue appearance they have when they're new. Are there any laundering secrets to keep that look for as long as possible?

I'm looking for a pair of jeans I saw someone wearing on the street today. I think I saw the same pair on Gwyneth Paltrow in People recently. They're women's jeans, low-rise, dark-ish, expensive looking, (hot!). They have a horizontal seam across the knee and snaps the size of nickels down the outside of the pant leg from knee to ankle. I've called several department stores and looked online, but I just can't seem to find them again. Help?
