How to make prop food (medieval setting)

So, my daughter's theater group is putting up a Robin Hood play. I've made carriage wheels and wooden swords, but now I'm being asked to whip up some prop food. This is slightly outside my comfort zone. [more inside]

How much importance could a forged document have?

A current FPP about a forged apocryphal Biblical text made me wonder: could any forged document really have world-shattering significance? Suppose the forgery were undetectable; could any plausible forgery of any document more than(say) 100 years old have a large impact outside academia?

Signs that questions here or on advice-giving subreddits are fake?

Fake leather jacket in NYC

Where can I find a fake/faux/vegan leather men's jacket in NYC (preferably Manhattan)? Some of the ones on the Wilson Leather site look good — but I'd like to try it on in the store, and they don't seem to have a NYC store. Please recommend a specific store, not just a general area. Thanks in advance.

Does Newegg ever sell counterfeit products?

I bought this phone from Newegg ("Sold and Shipped by Newegg", so not a third-party seller). While I can't see anything fishy with the handset itself, the manual, box, and phone case have no Nokia or Microsoft markings, and are all clearly non-OEM. [more inside]

How do I report a Facebook PAGE being run by an impostor?

Anyone have anything non-obvious and useful to say about how to report this page (not a profile, a PAGE) as fake? If you look at the About page, the admin acknowledges she is not bell hooks. How can I request either to have the page deleted or turned over to the bell hooks Institute (which I'm in touch with, and which would like to see this page deleted or given to them)? [more inside]

Christmas fake leaded glass window

Yeas ago at Christmas I used to paint black lines on a window to create a Dickensian diamond pane leaded glass look. I remember the clean up~being very messy. Is there a black tape that would do the job while not leaving a lot of residue behind on the window?

Are these jeans real or fake Hermès?

Bought a pair of women's jeans from Goodwill -- they are labeled Hermès but I am assuming they are fake. (I bought them JUST in case.) Google is not helping -- no matter how I search, all I can find is info about spotting fake Birkin bags. There must be a good guide online, but I'm just not finding it.

At what point would it be illegal to have a fake online identity?

I am considering creating a fake online identity to run some websites (it's much more boring than you think, nothing sexy or whatever). A pen name. None of the website will be illegal or about illegal activity but my identity would be fake. Once I start going farther down the rabbit hole (agreements with Ad Sense and affiliates, for example) would I be doing anything illegal? [more inside]

Are fake nails (professionally done) a good idea?

I used to be a nail biter but managed to break the habit a few years ago. Now my nails are actually growing and yay! They look pretty good! However, they are weak and as hell and break off. I have an important event coming up in two months where my hands will be looked at by many people. I would like to have nice looking nails, but I am getting paranoid that I am going to break a nail (or multiple) the day before or some such horror. Are fake nails a good idea? [more inside]

Help me save this dress I plan to ruin!

I bought a pretty white satin dress for halloween. Part of my costume is that I have to put fake blood all over it, since I'm going as Carrie. However, I'm starting to get really sad that I am going to ruin this dress, as I like the idea of wearing it for other things too. Is there any recipe for fake blood I can use that will wash out easily. Or is there any way I can rescue the dress afterwards? I was planning on making my fake blood with corn syrup and red/green food coloring.
