How else to endure all those rituals?

You live at Versailles in 1658. You're nobility of the blood. You know the King. What drugs, drinks, or other ways of getting totally fucked up are available to you? How often could you partake before people started to Have A Problem with it? Aside from alcohol, of course, which would be in abundance, but what kind? Wine? Beer? What kind of spirits? I know laudanum was available, and cocoa leaves mixed with tobacco enjoyed a fad but smoking was looked down on. I think. What other ways did the French Court get totally ripped? Would coffee be around? Would it be spiked? Marijuana? Hashish? More powerful concentrations of opiates? Coca Leaves processed into cocaine? Exotically dangerous substances?

Please help me find a country music song

I'm looking for a specific country music song that I don't know where I heard. I'm looking for a country song by a male artist that is about growing up in different generations. I think he sings about the 60s, 70s, 80s, etc, from a young person's perspective and about the fads of the time. Anyone have any ideas what song this is? TIA!

ISO kitschy 80s necklace

Does anyone remember the plastic chain charm necklaces that were such a hit in the 1980s? They looked like this, but longer and with a multitude of plastic charms hanging off, especially whistles.

I remember some girls had T-shirts that went along with these necklaces. The shirts had multi-colored chains printed across them.

Anyone know who made these or where I could find one?

Does anybody remember laughter?

Some albums are quintessential. Off the top of my head, I can think of Moby's Play, Beck's Midnite Vulture, kd lang's Ingenue, St. Germain's Tourist. These albums cut across genres, have mass appeal and can be found in almost everybody's collection, be they electro-freaks, punkers, or style-mongerers. In my opinion, and I may be completely wrong and out of touch, there hasn't been an album in recent times like those above that has touched us as deeply. Where are these new and fantastic cd's or have I simply missed the latest and greatest?
