Asking for my wife. There's a page that keeps popping up in her Facebook search results that she doesn't want to see. Clearing her search history hasn't got rid of it, nor has clearing her cookies and browser history. Is there any way to get rid of the page so that she never has to see it? [more inside]

I can't believe I'm burning a question on this, but in the last few months, one of those cartoon style text and picture... thingies was going around Facebook. It featured a women who was lamenting people who expect there to be guy and a girl in same-sex relationships, and (I think) ended in a panel that said "And sometimes the blonde likes to wear the strap-on." Does anyone have a link to it?
(As y'all can imagine, while the Google results for this particular query are highly interesting, they're not very useful to the particular question at hand. Thanks, all!)

What's so wrong with posting and discussing illicit or illegal matters on social media? It seems like a bad idea in a vague sense, sure, and I'm aware of the NSA. But if one is not currently under investigation for anything, what's the worst that could realistically happen to a person and/or their interlocutors? [more inside]

My HTC One Android phone has somehow become infected with a Facebook app again. I want to delete it permanently, completely and forever. It wont let me, I've checked the forums and googled around. When I drag the icon into 'remove' or 'un-intsall ' it just wont. It doesnt show up in my list of Apps in the App manager menu... its like voodoo...Gah! Is there a way or is Facebook like forever, like Orwell's canonical Boot?

After years of saving and planning, I've been able to realize my dream of traveling the world for a year. I'm 6 months into my trip and I've been posting photos or updates about where I am in the world on facebook about 2 or 3 times a week. While many people have expressed appreciation for the updates or interest in what I'm doing, I've noticed about 7-10 friends who used to interact with me all the time on FB and real life have totally stopped liking/commenting/sending messages although they're still very active on the site. I kind of suspect some of them have blocked me from their timelines. I know not everyone will have an opportunity like this and I try to be sensitive to that. I'm not preachy about "the importance of travel", or posting pics of 5 star hotel rooms and fancy restaurants (I'm doing this as cheaply as possible, mostly hostels in developing countries and couchsurfing.) At the same time I LOVE seeing others' travel pics and, well, want to share some of the exciting, amazing things I'm experiencing with people in my life. But some people seem put off by this, so I'm wondering - am I being a jerk? What's the etiquette here?

I have a Galaxy S3 that I've been using to check facebook groups by clicking on the link in my email notification, then opening it in Chrome. I like to "follow" posts to get email notification if anyone else comments. I just got a Nexus 7, and when I access my groups in Chrome, there's no follow button, only "like," "comment," and "share." The follow button does show up in Firefox, but Firefox doesn't let me pinch zoom. Trying to click on the link in my email and then choosing the facebook app to open it with doesn't work at all.
So if anyone has ideas about how to either make the "follow" button show up in Chrome or how to zoom in Firefox or if I should use a different browser/app, please let me know. Thanks!

I have been running a Facebook group since 2012 and I got a grant to do research with the findings from it. I need to download the group's postings and responses into a table and thinking the most reliable way to do so is with SQL. However, I have only just started with SQL and although I have found some ideas on Github for doing it, have no idea how to get started with pulling the information. I am seeking advice and possible alternatives. Can you help?

Facebook has sent me a code for $50 in free advertising to use in promoting my blog and/or its page on FB. Is it worth bothering to set up a $50 advertisement on Facebook when I'm not willing to spend anything at all on advertising over and above that? And it makes me nervous that they want my credit card info up front — are there pitfalls to avoid in making sure nothing gets charged to my credit card?

Ever since I've had a facebook account, I've had it set so that nobody can add me as a friend; I must add them first.
Recently, I added a friend of mine, and I didn't receive a confirmation that he accepted; I could simply see his wall and stuff an hour or so after I added him. When we hung out next, he said, "So, you finally added me on facebook." He'd apparently added me two years ago
and to him, I'd never confirmed, but I'd never even received notification of his request.
I've had my fb account for years; certainly there must be other people I've inadvertently offended in this way. How can I view pending incoming friend requests, when I've never received notifications for them?

Please help me find a website I used last week that shows you public Facebook events for your city, broken down by date, and - rather uniquely for such websites - lists the confirmed attendees by their self-selected Facebook gender! When you clicked on an event, it would pull up a map, and a list of the attendees, and then give you the option to click through to the Facebook event page. It was such a great resource and it's killing me to not be able to find it anymore!

For the past week or so I have been receiving phishing emails at my non-Facebook email account which appear to be from my Facebook friends. The sender's name is one of my Facebook friends, but the email addresses are not their real email address. The subject line reads FOR (MY FIRST NAME) and the message contains a link (which I never click, of course). Clearly there has been some access to my friend list and my email address. I am not using any apps on Facebook, and never give apps access to my info—my privacy settings are pretty locked down, or so I thought. Facebook is absolutely no help on this. I can't find a way to even report this to them because their reporting mechanism asks for links and there are none. I've changed my password, and locked down my privacy settings even more. Any ideas about how this happened and how to fix the security hole?
