I recently replaced a couple of old LinkSys WRT54G routers running DD-WRT in my home with a couple of couple of D-Link DIR-615 routers that I got as refurbs from woot.com. I bought these because the old machines only did 802.11 B/G whereas nearly everyone in the house now has a device that has 802.11 N capability. All seems well to me, but my wife and younger daughter consistently complain that they now frequently are unable to display some images from Facebook, and that this began to occur precisely at the time that I put these new routers in. I'm looking for a dead-simple tool that generates an image consisting of text on a plain, colored, rectangular background for posting to social media. (Please stop yelling. I agree with you. A family friend has asked me repeatedly for a recommendation. Saying, "no," is absolutely not an option here.) Is there an existing, uncomplicated tool that does this already? Browser-based would be fantastic. [more inside]
Part of my job is dealing with the social marketing for our organization. I have noticed lately that many of our text posts are doing better than our visual posts - seemingly against FB best practices and logic. Has something changed? [more inside]
What did I do to my iPhone 4 that caused it to not be able to "save images" from Twitter and Facebook anymore? All the gory details inside... [more inside]
Mrs. dyno04 has started getting a few clients for her photography business now, however most of the initial clients have been neighbors, friends, and family. As part of the end result she gives the clients a set of watermarked images and a set of high-resolution images. The print release specifically states that only the watermarked images can be used on Facebook. A few people have used the non-watermarked images on Facebook and she is wondering what is the best way to approach them to ask them to use the watermarked versions, keeping in mind that most of these people are people we interact with on a regular basis. She doesn't want to become "that" person that is only about making a dime.
I'm looking for a way to have Instagram photos automatically transferred into a Facebook album. I have the Instagram iPhone app upload to Posterous, but I can't find a way to automatically transfer the actual images (rather than links posted to my wall) to a FB album. I'm open to pretty much any solution (app, RSS, etc.)
Can I make someone stop using an image I created when the image in question is a parody of another work? [more inside]
