Make Facebook stop annoying me!

Typing anything in a Facebook entry box (search bar, status update, comment field) that causes a list of possible things I might want to link (friend's name, company, page I've "liked") to come up freezes Firefox. Completely. Except not every time, and not consistently. Help! [more inside]

How can I easily bulk "unlike" pages on Facebook?

Is there an app or script that will help bulk delete all the pages I've liked on Facebook over the years? The process of doing this from my settings is time consuming (deliberately). Even if there was a way to unlike EVERYTHING then start from scratch, this would be useful.

And sometimes the blonde likes to wear...

I can't believe I'm burning a question on this, but in the last few months, one of those cartoon style text and picture... thingies was going around Facebook. It featured a women who was lamenting people who expect there to be guy and a girl in same-sex relationships, and (I think) ended in a panel that said "And sometimes the blonde likes to wear the strap-on." Does anyone have a link to it? (As y'all can imagine, while the Google results for this particular query are highly interesting, they're not very useful to the particular question at hand. Thanks, all!)

Creeper, no creeping! Getting a stalker vibe from someone, what to do?

An acquaintance from years ago recently found me on facebook. I haven't spoken to him in 15-20 years. I am getting a bit of a stalker/creeper vibe off him and not sure what to do. I've read some of the other stalker threads on AskMe, and I'm still not sure what to do in my situation. The problem that is perplexing me is that he is a member of the same club I am, and I'm afraid if I too aggressively ban him from my online contacts, it will make club attendance and club related communications a problem. How do I "deal" with this person? Special snowflake details inside. [more inside]

Real risks of discussing illegal/illicit matters on social media

What's so wrong with posting and discussing illicit or illegal matters on social media? It seems like a bad idea in a vague sense, sure, and I'm aware of the NSA. How to make Flash based music player for Facebook?

I am starting a music/lifestyle blog. I want to be able to post songs from the artists on the blog (with their permission of course) on the blog's Facebook page to get the word of mouth going. I don't have enough web expertise to code from scratch, but if I had a player I could customize, I can modify the look and feel to my the blog. Any ideas on a Flash based mp3 player I could use? It could work on other platforms but it definitely has to work on Facebook too. PS. thinking of something along the lines of what soundcloud uses www.facebook.com/soundcloud

I've tried it on Internet Explorer and it works fine (Changing internet browsers is not an answer I'm willing to consider here). Can someone help me fix it please. [more inside]

My friend's Facebook page is super-popular. Now what?

So, here's the deal. I have this friend who has been pretty active on Facebook. She talks about being a mother and a recovering alcoholic. She is really funny, and her page has become pretty popular -- people she doesn't even know will tell their friends about the page and tell them to "like" it just for the humor. I'm a communications professional, so she came to me asking, basically -- how does she take the next step? How does she go from this Facebook page, which a lot of people seem to like, to a blog that people will actually go out of their way to visit? [more inside]

I'm looking for a photo that was online

It was a photo of a sculpture created from collected rocks, that formed a dragon's head. The head was not upright, more as if you looked at a sleeping dragon from directly above it. The photo was seen about a two years on Facebook, in one of those photo blogs, though I can't remember any specific or general details about the blog. Any ideas on this photo of sculpture made from collected rocks that formed a dragon's head?

Facebook etiquette for what is basically, a year-long vacation?

After years of saving and planning, I've been able to realize my dream of traveling the world for a year. I'm 6 months into my trip and I've been posting photos or updates about where I am in the world on facebook about 2 or 3 times a week. While many people have expressed appreciation for the updates or interest in what I'm doing, I've noticed about 7-10 friends who used to interact with me all the time on FB and real life have totally stopped liking/commenting/sending messages although they're still very active on the site. I kind of suspect some of them have blocked me from their timelines. I know not everyone will have an opportunity like this and I try to be sensitive to that. I'm not preachy about "the importance of travel", or posting pics of 5 star hotel rooms and fancy restaurants (I'm doing this as cheaply as possible, mostly hostels in developing countries and couchsurfing.) At the same time I LOVE seeing others' travel pics and, well, want to share some of the exciting, amazing things I'm experiencing with people in my life. But some people seem put off by this, so I'm wondering - am I being a jerk? What's the etiquette here?

So apparently my family is publicly bragging about our child abuse now?

So I log onto facebook for the first time in weeks today and see my brother has posted this image and my mother has "liked" it. Nothing that was done to us as kids would qualify as spanking (punched in the side of the head very often, welts on skin, bruises, dad threatening my sister with a kitchen knife, holding us off the ground by our necks, locking us in the bathroom and hitting us for half an hour for eating the wrong yoghurt from the fridge, knocked over if we ever spoke back to them etc). My brother was actually very rarely hit and it stopped altogether when mum threatened to divorce dad after he hit my brother badly one time. (No such luck for us girls though). I'm SO ANGRY right now and want to react but don't know how it would improve anything. I feel like I'm being goaded but am trapped in how I handle this, with it being a public forum all my friends can see. Please Mefi help me stay calm and do this right (even if that means doing nothing). [more inside]

Is my wifi router blocking images from Facebook?

I recently replaced a couple of old LinkSys WRT54G routers running DD-WRT in my home with a couple of couple of D-Link DIR-615 routers that I got as refurbs from woot.com. I bought these because the old machines only did 802.11 B/G whereas nearly everyone in the house now has a device that has 802.11 N capability. All seems well to me, but my wife and younger daughter consistently complain that they now frequently are unable to display some images from Facebook, and that this began to occur precisely at the time that I put these new routers in. How do I get the "follow" button to show up on Facebook posts?

I have a Galaxy S3 that I've been using to check facebook groups by clicking on the link in my email notification, then opening it in Chrome. I like to "follow" posts to get email notification if anyone else comments. I just got a Nexus 7, and when I access my groups in Chrome, there's no follow button, only "like," "comment," and "share." The follow button does show up in Firefox, but Firefox doesn't let me pinch zoom. Trying to click on the link in my email and then choosing the facebook app to open it with doesn't work at all. So if anyone has ideas about how to either make the "follow" button show up in Chrome or how to zoom in Firefox or if I should use a different browser/app, please let me know. Thanks!

Do I not understand Facebook standards?

I feel ridiculous for even asking but...I have a very happy and satisfying relationship with my domestic partner of several years. Seriously...everything's fine except for this one little thing...it's about how we both approach Facebook (we're both in our late 30's). He and I don't communicate, like or comment on each other's walls and we never have. But he does comment in a somewhat flirty manner with his exes (and I mean these are women from MANY years ago), and I've asked him, "What's up with that?" and his response has been, "It's nothing.
