Sometimes when I'm relaxed, for instance sitting at my computer, I start to lose vision in my left eye. It usually takes the form of a dark "C" or donut around my central vision (e.g. I can see through it to a single word but it covers up most of the web page). If I blink or even move my eye in the slightest, it goes away, returning in a few seconds if I am still relaxed.

For months my one-eyed kitty has been battling flare-ups of the herpes virus in her remaining eye. We’ve been the vet countless times. She appears to have other issues including anxiety and possibly allergies. I’ve spent a small fortune, spent hours worrying, and most of all don’t want to be responsible for my cat going blind. Anyone else have experience with this?

Which animal has the hardest eyes? I was thinking about how eyes are pretty soft and it might be advantageous for a creature to have "natural goggles" protecting its squishy eyes. Which animal's eyes have the toughest coating? (I do not care to hear about the protective qualities of retractable eyeLIDs, only the surface which can not be retracted, and which must be seen through.)

The post about Chicago bars got me to thinking about a 4 o'clock bar I spent some time in, and, more specifically, about the bartender who worked in that bar. I do not know the name of the bar and I don't much care, though I guess it'd be fun to know. I do not know the bartenders name, and about that I care very much.

I'm looking for a place online where I can get a bunch of non-prescription soft contact lenses that I could use to practice putting stuff into my eye.
I went for my first contact lens fitting about a year ago, and it took me a good 30 minutes of trying to get them in. At the end of this torture my eyes were red and teary and I had to keep blowing my nose. Things got busy and I never ended going back after the 3rd fitting (I have a crazy astigmatism that requires toric lenses and is apparently hard to fit). I also never got the hang of putting the lenses in without sitting in front of a mirror for a long, long time. Before going back, I'd like to get the hang of it. That's where you come in.
Since I don't have a prescription, I'd like to use lenses that don't correct vision. Maybe color lenses -- would that work? I'd imagine they're all pretty similar, or no? Are color contacts soft? Is there maybe a site that gives away samples lenses with no prescription somewhere?

1. How old were you when you got bifocal lenses? 2. How difficult was it to adjust to them, particularly if you got contact lenses? 3. How many different pairs or combinations of lenses did you have to try before finding something that worked? 4. Are there new options in recent years that a near-sighted person with worsening close-up vision should know about? Thanks for helping me go to my eye doctor with good questions ready.

I have Strabismus, a misalignment of the eyes which causes double vision. It's a condition I've dealt with my whole life but which had largely only manifested itself during periods of above-average tiredness, fatigue, or intoxication. As I passed through my 20s and now into my mid 30s, the condition has worsened to the point where it affects me every day, and I want to fix it. I'm considering eye muscle surgery, but I'd like to hear some personal accounts as to the effectiveness of this treatment. Positive or negative experiences are welcome, as well as non-surgical treatment ideas.

No amount of hydration, sleep, cucumbers, teabags, fancy gels and creams will get rid of the very dark circles under my eyes. I have made peace with the fact that they will never ever go away, but I would love some makeup solutions for covering them up. Is it possible to do so fairly minimally, without layers upon layers of caked on makeup and products? What products have you had success with?
