Flight related eyebrow pain?

Flight related eyebrow pain? I flew on holiday recently and near the end of the flight I got a piercing pain in my left eyebrow. I found that if I tried to relax the pain went away slightly. After we landed the pain was gone but replaced with a dull pain. I felt during this that my neck was hard to move.

As a test, when I arrived I swam to the bottom of the pool. The pain came back again in the left eyebrow, slightly.

I've experienced this several times before, and tried aspirin, and even Vicks to see if it helps. But because the problem only happens occasionally it's difficult to work out what the cause is.

What could be causing this? Any ideas?

Best Eyebrow Tweezers?

Seeking your recommendation for best eyebrow tweezers. I’m looking for eyebrow tweezers that work. Revlon and other drugstore-brand styles don’t seem to work for me; over time they become less “true,” and some even don’t work straight out of the package. I’d like to take a step up in quality and price range (say $20-$50?), but don’t know where to look.

My only real requirement is that they have tapered (or pointed) tips. Would be nice to have scissor-style grips, but will consider any pair that you’ve had success with. (If it matters, I have thick hair, which occasionally takes some tugging to extract.)

How to maintain an iBrow piercing?

iBrowPiercingFilter:How do I take care of my dandy new eyebrow piercing? I read a lot on the web and talked to a couple of people who got their brow's pierced and I got mine done yesterday. I read up and prepared for a few months (I had been planning on this piercing for a long time). But now that I actually have it pierced I'm not sure what things I have to do and what things are just extra precautions that no one really takes (although I'm sure the safer I am, the better). I'd also like to know when I can change the ball part of my piercing (should I wait a few days?) and just any tips you can give me.

I need more eyebrow hair!

Should I get an eyebrow hair transplant? After several years of gratuitous plucking and bad wax job experiences, it appears that there are a few spots on one of my eyebrows that just WILL NOT FILL IN. With the help of a skilled threader, one eyebrow is arched perfectly, but the other remains too sparse to be attractive, even after about 2 years of leaving it completely alone. It has bald spots =(

Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do to fix this? Makeup is not enough, I want real hair there again! I have heard mixed reviews about Rogaine. I am quite vain, honestly - I want them to look perfect again so should I go ahead and look into an eyebrow hair transplant/restoration? Please let me know if you have any information about this procedure or recommendations for it in NYC. Thank you so much - this has been bothering me for a long time!
But do you think they'll REALLY fire me for an eyebrow ring?

As has been pointed out, although I am a lawyer working in finance I don't look/act/talk/fit the part and my entire personality and sense of self strains and suffocates under the pressures of trying to fit in and the sacrifices it requires on various levels as such. Perhaps as a result of acting out under such strains and their increasing demands for me to pretend to be someone I'm not, I just got a facial piercing. It's not a bigdeal, just an eyebrow ring but I love it. While I understand the hive may feel that keeping it is arguably not a big deal in the "scheme of things," keeping this piercing is symbolic to me or somehow very important. I've read the previous questions on whether a lip piercing is acceptable for a legal internship, but my question differs. You see, I know that my eyebrow piercing won't be acceptable because after about a year of employment with this firm I was politely requested to remove the nose piercing I had during my interview and hiring process. For 5 years it has irked me, bothered me and depressed me that little parts of myself (including, but not limited to piercings and tats) are being hidden, sublimated and desiccated by The Man. Law/finance/etc. was just not the right career path for me, because I think it's just as ridiculous now to judge people based on whether their hair is fuschia or their nose is pierced than I did in college, and 7 years in this environment has only made me chafe more.

Notwithstanding that I work for The Man in finance/law/insurance, I'm in NYC where things are generally a little less conservative, and my employer is really a good guy (doesn't mind when I listen to Lamb of God or Gwar at work, allows my funky weird dyed-black haircut and knows I am not a run of the mill standard conventional normal type personality). Having said that, I do occassionally see clients (call it 1x per month), and just got a call for a client meeting on Monday afternoon. I'm a pretty critical employee, but I do more in-house, compliance, contract negotiation work with less face to face marketing and meetings.

So, my questions are firstly whether anyone has an opinion on whether the trick suggested in other threads (and used by me for a time after the removal of the formal nose ring) with fishing wire could ever fucntion on a -day-old piercing (most comments were prefaced by "if it's not a really new piercing...) or whether there are other tricks available for newer piercings. I'm also curious as to whether anyone has some ideas that could bolster my attempt to use my bangs and perhaps distracting lip make up to hide/draw attention away from the piercing at least until a substitute can be used. Another idea I've had would be to acknowlege the eyebrow piercing is not doable but maybe just get my tongue done instead, or a few more tattoos, so I was wondering if people really thought most people don't notice a tongue piercing. Maybe I can just a bandaid over my eyebrow for the meeting?

Oh why oh why did I do that.

oh CRAP filter: I just waxed off a huge chunk of skin from my upper-lip and eyebrow. Help! I was waxing my 'stache and eyebrows as usual when I decided to go in for a second round to rip off some remaining hairs (oh how I wish I could go back in time and just tweeze them out). After ripping off the second application I noticed the skin I had just waxed looked extremely smooth and shiny (compared to the rest of my skin). Um, uh oh??

After realizing what I'd just done, I rushed to put ice on the skin and put some moisturizer on it. Right now I look like I just got burned twice badly on my face by a curling iron.

I've never had a problem like this before, and on hindsight this is probably due to my latest beauty regime of alpha hydroxy based treatment every night. Sigh.

The best part is, I have to be at work in a couple hours. Yay.

Besides the ice and lotion, what else can I do for my newly "super exfoliated" skin or am I too late? Anyone know how long it will take for my skin to uh, grow back? Is this going to leave a terrible scar?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks so much in advance!

Trimming one's own eyebrows?

GuyGroomingFilter: How do I trim my eyebrows? Not for length/shape, but just the bushiness A long time ago when I was getting my haircut at a fancy salon (family discount), the stylist did some very fast operation with the hair trimmers and a comb that resulted in my eyebrows looking really great. It looked like she just reduced the length of the individual hairs by running over them with the trimmer, but I wasn't paying attention and was kind of surprised.

These days I go to a cheap barber or SuperCuts or whatever and don't really trust them to understand my English enough to not just shave them off entirely, which is obviously not what I want.

So how can I do this from the comfort of my own bathroom? Current materials include comb and beard trimmer, but I'm willing to spend money (especially if it means I won't accidentaly shave one off).

To be very clear, I am not interested in plucking/waxing/etc to change the shape/length, I just want to decrease the bushiness factor.

Eyebrow waxing and acne

I had my eyebrows waxed for the first time ever yesterday and half of my forehead is now full of tiny zits. I have blackheads and rosacea, but didn't think the waxing would affect large areas of skin because the line of wax applied was so thin. But for an hour after the waxing, I was scarlet from my eyelids to halfway up my forehead. This soon faded to patchy pink, then the zits appeared last night. I carefully squeezed the pus from several of them after my shower this morning, but several are just inflamed red spots with no heads.

I ain't putting any of my rosacea medication or Differin on my forehead until it calms down. The waxer applied a "calming" cream afterwards that did extend well beyond my eyebrows, so this may be the cause of my breakouts or it may be exacerbating the reaction to waxing.

Is this a typical reaction? How long until this calms down? My sister says that your skin gets used to repeated waxing, but I'm inclined to go back to tweezing now that waxing established a nice shape.
