Does anyone have experience with trying to import *used* Dutch bikes (or Danish, or German, etc) into the USA? I've only been able to find *new* bikes for sale, and they tend to cost much more than similarly priced American / Chinese / Taiwanese re-makes (Linus, WorkCycles, Etc). [more inside]

I am not that great with tags and Instapaper has full text searching now.
So, how can I move my Pinboard bookmarks to Instapaper, where I have a subscription?
I don't think I can do directly, but perhaps there's an indirect way?

I'm thinking about starting an import business specialising in very high quality and hard to find products, particularly tools and machinery.
I'm having trouble finding good quality online directories that list manufacturers like Alibaba that target Europe.
Does anybody have any advice on finding products in Europe?
Thank you kindly

allows one to export a blog from within Blogger, in the form of a .atom file. Opening the file in a web browser produces the message "This is an Atom formatted XML site feed. It is intended to be viewed in a Newsreader or syndicated to another site. Please visit Blogger Help for more info"
My goal is to convert this file to a standard html bookmarks file, but I can't find any apps that can parse it so I can export it as html. Thanks for any suggestions. [more inside]

I understand and grudgingly accept that buying products made in China often involves supporting a system that treats workers badly and pays them poorly. But I also have believed that at least the workers are employed by choice, and that they deem work conditions they've opted for in some way superior to the alternatives. Today I learned that "Made in China" can also mean "made by the slave labor of religious dissidents."
How can I exist as a consumer in this global economy without perpetuating and contributing to this system? Is there any ethical way to buy Chinese imports, or do I risk endorsing inhumanity every time? [more inside]

I have an Excel spreadsheet with couple hundred rows: URLs, a few fields of identifying information (outlet, etc.), for media hits on the organization I work for. I need to make this into a pretty (or at least semi-legible to the computer illiterate) document that I can give to board members, senior staff, etc.
What I would like is to use some form of scripting to automate this. Bonus points if the script can somehow open the URL and take a screenshot of the story so that I don't have to.
I have a Mac, and both the Adobe and Microsoft suites. How do I not spend tedious hours manually doing this? Especially since I have to do it each month and quarter.

So, I want to restore my iPhone to a backup that's about 1 month old. However, I don't want to lose all of the SMS/MMS and Contacts data that I've accumulated in the meantime. Is it possible to extract and import this newer data into my older backup? I've searched around previous, similar MeFi questions and various 3rd party software, but no dice. And, sadly, jailbreaking is not an option. [more inside]

I've got a PDF (a magazine). I'm trying export some pages from this PDF (my article), as a separate PDF. I'm on a Mac (10.6.7). This seems like it should be easy, but I can't print my selected pages to PDF (it's grayed out in the "Save to PDF" drop-down), nor can I find any options to save-selected-pages-as or export-to. My searches have only turned up now-obsolete, non-functioning programs like PDFlab and PDFsam. What am I missing? Should I just print out the pages and scan them back in?

Go back to the border office and import it for reals (how much would this cost?) or export it back to the US and sell it in a Carmax in Seattle or something? [more inside]
