This guy I work with told me that if one were to put steel wool inside a microwave and turn it on, it would cause a large explosion. Normally I would call his bluff, but the dude was in Nam and has an extensive understanding of improvised explosives. I'm tempted to drive out into the middle of nowhere (one of the perks of living in the West) with a long extension cord and a generator (or car engine adaptor) and giving it a shot. My question is, have I been had? Is this guy telling me the truth? [more inside]
