I'm considering going abroad to study for the bar exam during June and July. I'd like to go somewhere interesting, fun, and also relatively inexpensive. Two places I'm considering are Berlin and Buenos Aires. Assuming I rent an apartment for two months (probably shared), and live a decent but non-extravagant student's lifestyle (I'll be studying during the days, but will still have nights and weekends free to explore and have some fun), how much can I expect to spend per month in each city? Any other suggestions for inexpensive but fun cities?

I'm 32, have $60K in the bank, no debts, few personal attachments, and mad computer programming skills. I would like to move to another country for a year or two, where I can live economically off my savings, improve my programming skills, and start a number of web/software projects that will hopefully be the Next Big Thing. Where should I go?

Simple Amsterdam/Holland question:
Not looking to work there just hoping to stay as a tourist, rent a flat and see Europe from there for a year and a half and come back to the US. Does anyone in the Netherlands offically even care?, we have retirement income to cover expenses while there.
All the sites seem devoted to work permits and bringing in the kids type needs, we just need to know we are able to stay, spend and leave.
Anyone of the mifi hive ever do that?

On Friday I'm going to Birmingham (Sutton Coldfield) for three months (until early may) for an engineering internship. What should I know? What's the Birmingham area known for amongst Britons? What should I absolutely not miss in my down time? What social norms (at work or otherwise) might be unusual to me? What do locals do for fun? What parts of the city should I wander around in to get a sense of the place (and in which areas would doing so get me killed or served with an anti-social order)?
