Good StrongLifts-type dumbell exercise programs?

This $20/month gym looks awesome... but it doesn't have barbells, so I can't do StrongLifts 5x5. Should I go back to my old gym, or do you guys have an alternative structured dumbbell/machine-based/bodyweight strength training program? Or a better gym suggestion in downtown Manhattan? [more inside]

What exactly is the Transformation Super Challenge?

What exactly is the Transformation Super Challenge? Chris Krueger has some interesting YouTube videos that claim to have a diet/exercise program that can work for anyone. However, the only way to find out about the program is to shell out $55 via his web site. In searching for any reviews of the program, I noticed that every link seems to go to a web page that he runs/owns. I can't find one single review that is not sponsored by Chris Krueger. Has anyone used this program, or can at least give a thumbnail sketch as to what it entails?

Friend wants to do a fasting/exercise regime to lose 1-2 lbs a day. She's adamant about this, so what can she do to minimize the damage to her body during this time.

A good friend is attempting to do a fasting/exercise regime where her main goal is to lose 1-2 pounds per day for at least 2 weeks by not eating anything and doing a lot of cardio everyday. I have personally (and constantly) argued against this as it is clearly unhealthy but she seems to be set on doing this.
