Please help me feel better about walking at a pace of 15 min/mile! I usually walk my two dogs for an hour every evening at what I thought was a fairly fast pace. I recently downloaded an app to my iphone that tracks my walking and provides my pace which turns out to be a snail like 15 minutes per mile. Yikes - that seems so slow - I just need some encouragement that I'm not a big loser!

Why does sustained exercise sometimes make me very unwell for hours or even days? I lift heavy weights at the gym three times a week with no problems, I get enough sleep, I eat very healthily (but perhaps my intake is low on carbs like bread, pasta or rice). But every now and then, when I do a sustained cardio type exercise for about an hour or a little more (playing a sport, taking occasional breaks for water, etc), I start to feel fatigued before everyone else does, then I feel extremely sick to the point of having to sit down, not wanting to move. In extreme cases, I've been unwell for more than two entire days after.

I have a weightlifting rack which is made of square, 2" steel tubing.
What's the easiest way to attach a pullup bar to it?
More generally, what are good ways to attach things to it in general? I'm thinking both of pre-made and DIY.
Bonus points for suggesting novel things to attach.

I'm looking for a simple iPhone app: I want to start exercising for 30 mins./day most days of the week, but I may not always get in the 30 mins. at once. (Apparently, it
doesn't matter.) I want an app that tracks my daily minutes of exercise (e.g., 10 mins. here, 10 mins. there) and tells me how much more I have at that moment till I get to my 30-minute daily target. It'd also be nice if it told me my weekly minutes up to that point. I track my food in another app, so I don't need it to track calories.

I'm working out, particularly around the torso, and I'm much stronger. My waistline hasn't budged. My weight has barely changed since I started going to the Y and doing 20 minutes of cardio a day plus lifting weights. Loving wife says that's because I'm building muscle, and "muscle weighs twice as much as fat." What's truly going on?

So, I've been really loving spin class lately. However, the timings at my gym are such that I can only go 2 times a week. I'd like to spin 3-4x a week. Can you recommend any audio workouts (podcasts, etc) that simulate a spin class experience?

non-woo options to treat and prevent further episodes.

The bf and I have been working on establishing healthier patterns (eating better/exercising/drinking less alcohol) and have a question about slip ups. We'll be going along fine for several weeks to a month, then go to a party or whatever, have a night of drinking and eating junk, then get off track for several weeks to a month. How can we minimize the damage from slip ups?

I have about a month to lose 5-10 lbs for an upcoming wedding that requires me to wear a dress that does not fit and cannot be altered. Normally I'd cut back on calories and just go running a lot, but I've been rendered unable to run or elliptical or bike due to an Achilles injury that I don't want to worsen. What dietary things and other workout things can I do during this time to ensure weight loss? In my twenties, no health problems, no dietary restrictions, reeeally need to fit into this god forsaken dress.

I like doing push-ups. They are great for my upper back and upper body strength, and for opening the collar bone area. The only problem is that push-ups aggravate a ganglion cyst in my wrist. This is even when I use fancy push-up handles. Is there an exercise that does not put pressure on my wrists that has the same benefits?

If I, say, go on a very long run and burn enough calories to metabolize one ounce of fat, how does that weight leave my body?
