How to keep my hair dry while swimming?

My mid back length hair is very thick and is color treated. I've been thinking about lap swimming for exercise, but how can I manage my hair? I usually wash it once a week, do not use hair dryers and like to let it air dry. It usually takes several hours for my hair to air dry, which is fine for once a week, but I can't imagine having wet hair 5 days a week. Another concern is the chlorine effecting the dark blonde color and turning it green. A swim cap would be logical, but my research shows they are not waterproof. How do I keep my hair healthy while trying to keep my body healthy?

Pregnant triathlete gifts?

A triathlete friend is 3 months pregnant...I'd like to get her something to make her running/swimming/biking nicer as she progresses, what might she need? I was thinking a support belt of some kind for running, any recommendations? Suggestions for other 'must haves'?

Why does swimming make me nauseated?

After not swimming for a very, very long time (swam for a neighborhood swim team as a kid, swam a lot through high school but after that, nothing beyond splashing around) I'm trying to get back into it as an exercise regime. Only problem is, after only a few laps, I'm nauseated. What should I do? [more inside]

Now that WeEndure is shutting down...

Now that WeEndure is going away, I need somewhere to track my exercise. There are a number of places that have biking and running, but not swimming. I'd prefer simpler to the more complex sites like MapMyRun (which, again, doesn't do swimming, from what I can see). I have seen this and wondered what things are out there, four years later. Bonus: a place that I can dump all my WeEndure data into so I hit the ground running. [more inside]

What kind of exercise can I do instead of swimming to get the same benefits?

So now that my local community swimming pool has been taken over by a corporation swimming rather sucks and I'm left trying to figure out if I can replace it with a different type of exercise while still getting the same benefits. Swimming helps with my back and shoulder problems as well as increasing my cardiovascular fitness but there must be other ways to do this without joining a gym, right? [more inside]
