I'm compiling an Excel spreadsheet full of personal data. What my employer would like to do is add that information to their existing website and make it searchable and filterable, so that researchers can filter out all guys who were born in year X or town Y, search for all guys named Cohen, etc.

Well, I created a spreadsheet in Google docs. A simple, no frills document where there are various columns - one s for email addresses.
Those addresses I want to go into my Address book in either Gmail or Thunderbird. Downloaded the spreadsheet into Excel - in CSV format - tried to save it to text - it's obviously not working. Someone online directed me to the Google Scripts and to API.
This is so not my forte' and it's for a non-profit and am getting lost in a sea of geekage. Is there a simple way to just export the column of email addresses, convert them into a database separated by columns, fit for my email program?
Thanks in advance.

I'm making an archival database (in Excel) with about 10,000 rows and 6-7 columns for each row. I'm doing this so the information will be easy to cross-reference and search. I've never done anything like this before and am looking for books, blogs, etc. for tips, suggestions, and anything that will make my life and this project easier.

Fortunately, that individual is assigned the same unique identifier. How do I make it so that each individual has one row with total donations for the year?

I have a data set of approximately 9,000 hip-hop tracks. It's in an Excel file. I have the song title, the artist, and the album. Now I just need the year. How can I find and automatically import the year into the Excel file without manually looking up every track on Google? Is there a way to do this with MusicBrainz or a similar database?

I have an Excel Spreadsheet (using Excel 2003). Rather than creating formulas to answer ad hoc questions that I have, I would like to be able to quickly type in a SQL querty against the data in the spreadsheet. So, I could scroll down to the bottom of the sheet to see how many rows I have, OR I could type" select count(*) from data_table" instead. I prefer the latter. Any suggestions?
