My Google-fu has failed me - I'm looking for contact details for English Heritage's management-level events organisers (the folks who book acts to appear at EH venues) and I can't find any current information - can anyone help me please? Thanks!
I'm involved with an arts festival, and want to use a CMS. I think one (possibly any) of the following would be suitable, to varying degrees: Joomla, Drupal, Textpattern, Expression Engine, Wordpress. (I've deliberately gone for PHP.) Which would you recommend and why? [more inside]
My community theatre group forgot to have tickets printed for this weekend's show. I'd like to use a template and print them on my office copier to help the group save money. Is there an online program that will help me do this easily? I have MS Office 2000 programs, but the built in templates don't want to cooperate.
Guidance would be appreciated.

How should we make the most of our business trip? Two partners and I are visiting NY next week for a client meeting. (We're normally in London and US West Coast.) I'm trying to keep an eye out for everything related to new restaurants, events, gadgets, etc. in the San Francisco area. I'm trying to use del.icio.us, but it hasn't been too helpful, any other ideas?
What's the best web site out there for local events going on in your area? New examples of these types of sites pop up every day, so it's hard to keep track of the best of the best, but what are some of MeFi users' favorite sites to take a look at upcoming events of all kinds, including concerts, art exhibitions, festivals, arthouse/revival film showings, etc? Any suggestions for places and events I could take part in to help me get out of my rut? [more inside]
My friend recently moved to Portland, OR to go to grad school. I've sent her some guide books for the area, but I'd also like to give her a subscription to a weekly events-type magazine. I'm in NYC and I get a lot out of reading Time Out: New York -- listings of restaurants to try, shows to see, bands playing, etc. I don't think Time Out prints a Portland version, so I'm looking for suggestions from the masses here. Is there something similar to (or even better than!) Time Out:NY for Portland? Thanks!!

I have a semi-unexpected week's vacation starting next Saturday, and a yen to do some leisurely road-tripping. I have no shopping to do, no planned events to attend, no one I owe a visit, and in general nothing to recommend any city within 500-ish miles of Oklahoma City over any other. So... what events of unusual interest are happening December 8th - 15th in the Central U.S.? Santa Fe or St. Louis; Denver or Memphis; Kansas City or Austin or any other metropolis within a day's drive of Oklahoma - anything going down in your burg that week that would justify a visit?

We have a club that has just started and the purpose of the club is to create awareness and provide events that deal with: Humanitarian, Social, and Environmental Issues. In short it is an activism club. I was wondering of the metalfilter community could provide us with any events having to do with H/E/S issues (preferrably not just community service) and also perhaps links or resources. It would be greatly appreciated if you could all contribute before next Monday because we are beginning to lose the interest of many of our members due to the fact that we have not established any solid events. Much thanks to those that contribute! :]
Our team needs a better scheduling/calendar application. (I've created a mockup (see inside) of one desired outcome.) Its a small team (under 10ppl) but we work 24/7 and would like the schedule to be easy to update/modify. There must be some kind of Web2.0/Ajax-ified hotness for this out there somewhere, I'm just not finding it. [more inside]
